Post by: Ogre Time Yay on Mar 24, 2014, 09:08 AM
Had this random idea just now, and it could either be a fun idea for everyone to participate in, or it could be another retarded idea from me me me myself, and me. I'm all for opportunities for players to provide back story and content to their role play characters, and so there's this, the fun facts! :D

Here's how it works, post something in this thread that others may or may not know about one of your characters, and/or might find interesting. It could be anything from an IC thing, to an OOC decision you made or changes that popped up for your character(s).

Example/Template:

FACE THE FUN FACTS! >:(
Hydaro makes some very delicious pies, but he doesn't know why he makes them. He doesn't eat pies, so he often makes stacks, not knowing what to do with them. When the deed is done, he might spend an hour in deep thought wondering what the meaning of pies are. This often leads to the use of several narcotics and going into meditation. By the end of the day he still has a bunch of pies.

NOW YOU TRY!!!

Daeatria, despite being a social rogue, enjoys practising song and dance immensely.  Sometimes, this makes people mistake her as a bard - and rightfully so.  While she most certainly cannot invoke spells with her songs, she has emotion in them.  Both her songs and dance include her acting skills that are essential for much of the work she does. And it has been one way for her to release emotions she sometimes disassociates from in her work (or unconsciously).

Neisha does stuff, you know that.  What stuff, she won't ever tell anyone.  However, it is known that her children hide socks about their home, where ever they happen to be.

Sophia has a reverie disorder, and rarely, plays out these memories as if they're real when she's wide awake.  And sometimes, has trouble distinguishing reality from the memory.  She tries to sit down, or avoid contact if this occurs, but other times, she's prone to ranting until it stops.  She also loves Deer, Kelemvor, and has a second half.  Adrianna.  The other half of her soul that was returned to her.  Adrianna is all the things Sophia is not, except for brutal killing.  They share that in common.  Lots of PC's on CD have communicated with Adrianna without realizing it.

Sorn used to be a brutal man, slaying any and all, his life was chaotic like this for 400 years, until the last century when his magic was stolen from him, and he continues to regain it with every spell.  He also has many illegitimate kids strewn about Faerun.  If he tells a story, it's always true.

Keven reads and writes all the trashy, low brow, insistently everything-works-out-perfectly fiction he likes, because it makes him reflect on his young, seemingly perfect life in Myth Drannor. It makes him constantly live in denial and keep imagining that it never happened.

Let see what might others not know ..

Jaylithel is an excellent dancer. He was taught as a boy by his adoptive mother, Moona.

Jay of the Dark Hand is not a Faerunian hin, but rather an Afflicted Kender from Krynn. He also has a softspot for kids and "underdogs".

Dominique, for all her bluster about fighting and being a practical farm girl is a "girlie girl" at heart and enjoys an excuse to dress up.

Simkin, despite his young age and apparent innocence, has a wisdom despite his years and a very vengeful side.

Cecilia aka Badhbh is very sentimental in regards to affairs of love, and is likely to act outside her usual nature to protect or promote it. This stems from having lost the one man who she actually truly loved, Baqir.

Bastion, despite his usual calm and methodical approach to battle, goes absolutely batshit crazy when fighting known Banites.

Taly'siana is a half-celestial, but actually opposes the Blood Wars.  Not because she has love for fiends, but because so many worlds and planes (including where she was from) was destroyed from it all.  Mentioning any note of the Blood Wars going on in Abeir-Toril will guarantee her direct involvement in the matter.

Galdern:- Semi-Retired Bladesinger, can face any threat down but one... his own mother, and can be seen running for the hills from the mere hint she's around.

Valar:- Loves secretly all the endearing names those she is close too call her, but hates admitting it.

Caine:- Reallly loves his wife, what Caine really doesn't have any hidden sides, he pretty much is what you see. He misses his Twin Sister through, a lot.

Marbles Barbaloot's real name is Tomte Barbaerlun. His nickname came about when he was on a river barge headed for Waterdeep. The crew was outnumbered by some sort of nasties. Tomte scattered a bagful of marbles across the deck and the nasties went for a swim. The Barbaloot moniker came from a dwarven companion getting his name wrong.

OOC'ly, you can thank Dr. Seuss for Barbaloot.

Rashan cooks. At great length and with great enthusiasm. The most expensive room in the home he and Priya share, is the kitchen. He cooks, he bakes, he fries, he roasts, he barbaques. He has a food budget. He teleports abroad for the freshest ingredients. He has been known to teleport across half of Faerun to visit a favored restaurant on date night. His recipe book is thicker and heavier than the Shield's ledger.

His cooking has made a dragon go "squeee!"

That is a normal Tuesday morning for him.

Tindra: Does not wear bells. Ever. She jingles because of something she wears UNDER her clothing as opposed to attached to them.

She has a hearing problem, which is why she often says things incorrectly.

She feels deeply, but is also easily frightened... she hides this behind a need for "family" and a smile for others.

Currently, she is very lonely. Her bonded partner is dead, and many of those she had called family have moved on. She still tries to smile, though.

Beryl: Is not her parents' child. She only recently discovered (with Dar's help) that she had been kidnapped as a young girl.

She is often known as the Pink Ranger. Almost always in pink, she can track and hunt the best sales for fine clothing and designer boots!

Priya: That is her mother's name. She doesn't give out her true name often, or the truth of her past. Both are something people are gifted with when she feels trust has been earned. If you get either, its meant as an honor as she knows you can keep it to yourself.

She's still wary of touch, especially by men, outside of her chosen partner.

Order, order, order! Everything in its place. She's rather obsessive about that, but she knows it. So does Rashan... who messes with her by moving things.

She has a weakness for soft things and is on a mission to find a lamb she can pet.

She truly is a peace-loving person with no thoughts of ruling anything. Ever. Past or future. When she finds herself "accidentally" in charge, she makes sure those working under her know it is them with the power.

She has 3 different laughs people will hear: a breath, a trill, or a burble. The more comfortable she is, the more likely you'll at least hear the trill.

You can also tell how comfortable she is by the way she sits: back straight, ankles crossed, hands in lap - she's not comfortable. Feet to the side or tucked underneath - she feels safe.

She sometimes borrows Rashan's socks and runs across the Shield, sliding... not that she'd let anyone see her being that silly though!

Lena: Hates that her parents call her Nia. Hated her super curly wild hair... until Hydaro loved it.

Her faith is something so settled in her she doesn't feel a need to defend it or try to act like a "typical" priestess... she isn't sure she could ram a stick that far up her ass anyways.

She grew up with parents that lived to fight Zhents and undead. It meant she lived in places few would inhabit and had rugged neighbors, including a few dwarfs (which explains some of her personality).

She likes to help people find their way (much like Sehanine would) by showing them what can be, but letting them take the step to grab it. She's also willing to accept anyone as they are without feeling a need to change them. She loves diversity! ...and apparently addictions. She gambles, drinks, and smokes.

Nikki: A Lantanese human. She and her father washed up on those shores from a wreck when she was a child. Her step-mother is a gnome.

She is very proud of her flying machine (even though it crashes...often).

She has a cat named Cat. She created a CAT-apult that flings fish bits across the room for the cat to chase... the bits usually land in whatever project her husband Jonan is working on.

Roan: Seriously, I'm not sure why she isn't dead yet. I don't even really like her she's such a piece of work. XD

Eve, for all her confidence and attitude, is highly insecure, and has a number of issues that go back to her troubled origin and upbringing.

Lilith is no better, even if hers are of a slightly different, if related, flavor than her twin sister's, due to the difference in their early days.

Until Rashan hit 20th level, he couldn't fly, outside the usual, standard Fly spell everyone has access to. Instead, he actually walked on air. Though this was no big secret, he went to great lengths to make clear that it was still a very worthy way to travel. By skydiving. Into the square.

Theavos often drops Rashan from ridiculous heights whenever he is sent by portal, unless there is an urgent matter at hand, or Rashan has his adopted daughter (either of them) with him.

Yeah, he has two adopted daughters. You'd think he'd have a daughter of his own, but nope. Life hasn't been that ironic to the scoundrel.

Yet.

Unusual factoids, eh? *summons vault full of peoples*

Ameng's purple hair isn't natural, but the result of a magical experiment decades ago when she was first learning magic.  It's stayed ever since.

Azaelyn is the twin sister to Vilith, but often longed to stab her eyes out when she became aware of her.  Point of fact, she did cause the loss of her sister's left hand.

Kalissa does own a single dress!  But wears boots with it.  She never did quite figure out the whole "walk in heels" thing.

Kyle Slade is an Arabellan, born and bred.  For the longest time he was "a farmer's son."  He has military training.

Sumest prefers to eat his meals cooked, despite being a sea elf.  He really likes pan-seared bass.  He also hates sharks and loves dolphins.

Siris would fall under the american psychology association's text book example of multiple personality disorder, had he not watched them kill each other in his mind.  He still identifies both personalities as separate physical beings and siblings.  Of all his varied possessions, the badge made for him by Priya is the one thing he would refuse to give up.  In some regards, that is his identity.

Alia'trisa is Siris' younger sister.  She's a young elf and prone to picking up strange phrases from those around her or to coin new ones.  She "Actions" all day, as an example.  She also has a talking dragon sword.  She was also murdered over a year ago, but reflects upon this as "temporary rigor mortis."  Given Arabel's adventuring population's tendency to not stay dead, this is probably an accurate description of death.

Vilith was my first character here and my standard "bitchy rogue elf" concept.  She's adopted several other adventurers as family and actually despises the one blood relative that lives in Arabel (Azaelyn).  As mentioned above, her left hand was severed by her sister's machinations and was replaced by a silvered hand with gemstone fingernails.  It's fully functional but still stiffens up on her from time to time.

Daeatria: For all of her 'moon-elven' tolerance, Daeatria is not romantically attracted to men who will not live long, and strongly prefers elven or elvish qualities.  And for all her confidence and strong-willed demeanour, the etrielle is fragile deep inside. To note, according to the APA, she would have a relative case of PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder).

Sheighley Flynn is a native of cormyr and her aunt is a priestess at the temple of Llira in Waymoot.  Her mother was killed in the battle of Waymoot by orcs.

Carys McKenna has never committed to a serious relationship since causing a bad breakup of her two best friends and entering the service of Firehair.

Eilira ravenshadow is an orphan who never met her mother and has had a deep desire to connect with a family ever since.

Rhea:
-Rhea isn't her name.  It's a severe bastardization of her name.  Shavandal is a madeup surname, gibberish in Elven.  She doesn't know her family/clan name.
-In spite of her hatred of it, she's really good at paperwork, bookkeeping, etc.  She hates doing it though, so she leaves a mess if made to do it.
-Believes in love, for others.  Highly skeptical/afraid of relationships of her own.  Equally wary of friendships.
-Has only been drunk twice.  Once was in a "drinking contest" with Wulgar.

Cara:
-Has 4 children that are practically her age (because timey-wimey chaos magic).
-Most people know she doesn't know how to swim.  They also "know" that she's afraid of water.  Not true.  She's fine with baths, lakes, and oceans.  She's afraid of water elementals, rivers and fountains.
-Lost her shadow to a soul-eating aberration/shadow.

Hydaro:
Mentally insane in almost every meaning, but over centuries of learning focus he has mastered the ability to determine what is real and what isn't. When Hydaro sits in the square in Central Arabel silently looking off to the East, it is likely because he is looking at people or things that are not really there, in observation of them. Hydaro hates being in the middle of large crowds for two major reasons. He believes that there is always someone in some crowd who will want to put a dagger in his back, the other reason is that all of the voices and memories running through his head at the same time makes it hard to focus on busy conversations between a large crowd. Drinking (alot) helps Hydaro focus, oddly enough.

Hydaro limps around because his left knee is bad from a strike he took to it when he was in the Abyss some years back. His knee is actually fully healed and in good condition, the pain he feels in his knee is all in his head. Every now and then his mind will replay the pain he felt when his knee was struck.

Despite being the head teacher of the White Cloak Academy, Hydaro prefers following orders rather than giving them, especially if the one giving orders has earned that right in his view. Hydaro will usually follow James St. Bell's orders without question.

Because of years of physical and mental abuse when he was a child, Hydaro is able to ignore pain more effectively. He was also trained by an old Dwarven Defender decades ago that taught him how to withstand strong attacks.

It's a mystery as to why Hydaro likes hunting ogres. His parents had no history of favoring ogre hunting, nor was he taught to hate ogres when growing up. Ogres have never really wronged him in a way where he would seek revenge... Hell, Hydaro himself doesn't even know why he loves hunting ogres, he just does it.

When Hydaro goes into battle, he loses all pain in his knee, the voices in his head stop, he stops seeing things, and he becomes completely focused.

Marziima really loves to fish. There's something about the bait and switch of it all that appeals to him. The fact he can catch a large beast with something as insignificant as a worm by tricks and illusions makes it relevant to what it means to be a merchant. Ironicly, as much as Marziima likes the ideology of fishing, he's pretty terrible at it.

Yedir Crowblade:

Crowblade isn't Yedir's original clan name.

There use to be more than one Crowblade, in fact there was an entire clan formed of them. Yedir never witnessed the separation from his original clan, he was born into the clan of Crowblade. These are a group of rare sneaky Dwarves.

He is now currently the last surviving member of the Crowblade after being betrayed by a group of Dwarves near the end of the siege on Skullcrag. Yedir hid among the corpses and occasionally took on the habits of a crow to blend in with the environment and avoid detection from those hunting him.

Despite the death of his clan, Yedir holds no grudges and cares very little for things such as revenge.

Yedir lives in the Slums of Arabel, but never in one spot. Those looking for him can follow the sound of his violin music until they get to him, but if he does not recognize the one looking for him, he will halt his music and remain hidden while relocating to another area in the slums.

I dig this thread.
Alameth: Owns a cat.  Practices the flute but is still bad at it, nonetheless he enjoys the excercise.  Still harbors terrible guilt for something,  although he hasn't consciously acknowledged it.
Mirabell: Pretty much what you see is what you get.  Has a giant spider for a roommate.   Her name is Georgette and its smart enough to understand common.   She also lives with an oddly intelligent mimic which serves as the door and guard to her lab.  She met it after it saved her and Tyrus' life in the ogres redoubt.  Once spent a year as a lawn ornament after getting drunk and miscasting a stone skin spell.
Savateem: Has become interested in the study of history,  specifically the rise and fall of kingdoms and empires.  May very well one day suffer a serious crisis of faith, which may fare badly for him as he has on at least one occasion gained the attention of his diety.
Rose:I created Rose because I felt like playing something exotic.   While I normally play good aligned characters,  my tastes do tend to lean to the darker things like tieflings.   I decided to try and be brighter for a change,  so went with aasimar.  I liked the idea that as she became more in touch with her own beliefs and gained a greater uunderstanding of her nature it would bring out more of her celestial heritage .  To that end I thought the monk abilities nicely portrayed that as well as suiting her introspective nature.
She enjoys Blueberry wine, as it reminds her of her home in Damarra, as well as painting.

Hydaro:
Hydaro's casual wear, the worn out green uniform he tends to wear on the rare occasions of when he's not packed down in armor, is actually his old prison uniform. Out of the numerous times that Hydaro has been to prison, it was one of his first trips where he took a liking to this beaten standard prisoner uniform to which he felt the need to hang onto it.

... Did I mention that Hydaro has been to prison a few times? He's Chaotic Good for a reason, he has quite a crime record...

Daeatria: She speaks the drowish dialect of elven more like a native than she speaks elvish elven.  Her elvish elven only comes across as good as it does because she had linguistic training at a young age. When drunk or in rage, she slips into the accent of the former, with a high class Illuskan touch when speaking common (though one that sounds 'Bristolian British' more than Germanic/Icelandic/etc). She also tries to pick up other elven dialects, as well.

Taly'siana: The half-celestial has taken on the form of a male before when using alter self, despite her conservative tendencies when compared to my femme fatale. This was when she was being curious about the matter. Though I do not remember -all- the details of that since it had over four years ago. :-D In either case, everyone can be assured because of her nature, things kept in the Disney-friendly realm when she took the form of a male!  ;-)

Jaylithel: Despite all his jesting, sexual innuendo and flirting, is highly devoted to the thought of monogamous love. While he certainly can and freely admits attraction to other women, he would never act on those attractions. This all stems from when he was with Analith and the time following their arrest and eventual release for the assault on the elven settlers in the northern Hulluck. It was around this time that they questioned their following of Shar and the contradiction of her teachings and their growing feelings for each other. While in this state, Jay continued his act of carousing and was in mid coitus with another woman when Analtih walked in on them at the hot springs. Analith flipped out, her heart broken and ran straight back into Shar's arms. Jay rightfully blames himself for this result and for all of the tragedy that happened both to and by Analith since then. For this reason he will never stray to another bed while he is committed to someone.

Speaking of the killing of elves. Very few know this secret of Jaylithel. While he did go on trial for the massacre of the settlers years ago, he was never proven guilty of the crime or that he was the assassin known as " Silk". The matter was dropped when Jay, Analith and a few others caught and slew the one behind the contract. As it happened in Cormyr, few in Semberholme are aware of details of the event. If it were known, he likely would have been booted out of Velethuil long ago. He still has nightmares of burnt elven children. One in particular that was horribly burned, but still alive. The echos of the child's cries and the memory of finishing it off himself haunts him. He will awaken from this dream in cold sweat and feel the need to wash his hands to the point of them being red and raw. Jaylithel will still sometimes dress in his old "Silk" clothing in the seedier parts of Arabel to stay up on the gossip of the underworld.

Taly'siana: Unlike Daeatria, who can only manage to make something edible or 'okay' when it comes to cooking, Taly'siana -loves- to cook.  Not only does she do it with enthusiasm, but she can do a variety of dishes.  She has a talent for it.  If it is something she does not know how to make, she is enthused to learn how to do so.  This is why people will often find her stuffing people's faces in the square, namely with sweets.  Especially as an 'ice breaker' or tension tamer.

(Postscript:  I am personally curious what it is about half-celestials and sweets. <.< I think Rhea and Taly'siana both have a thing for them. It certainly cannot be a stereotype! :-D)

~ She will do almost anything if bribed with strawberries or gems.
~ Has a horde of gems that could very well compete with a dragons collection.
~ Wouldn't think twice about murdering someone for touching her hat.
~ Speaks without thinking.
~ Can't stand people walking around half naked or in ugly outfits. Fashion must save everyone!!!!!!!!
~ Wields a sentient rapier.

Alitha:

~ She prefers to be called Wolf rather then by her name.
~ Often has conversations with trees and random animals.
~ Is very easily embarrassed around certain conversational topics. She will resort to shifting and fleeing if it gets too bad.
~ For a druid, she gets lost ... a lot. >.<
~ The ring finger on her right hand has been severed off.
~ She is very amused at the shock given when people find out she is Elf's wife.

Morwen : What You See Is What You Get. The most uncomplicated and transparent character there is. Her one secret is the painful loss of a lover two years ago, which caused her to plunge into work to escape thinking of it. The one thing people may not realize is that she likes to volunteer for patrols so she can find a quiet spot to loaf.

Mala : Intensely attracted to surface elven men. Which, naturally presents some obstacles and difficulties to her romantic prospects.

Daeatria: As good as she can be at persuasion, she does not enjoy dealing with mercantile related matters.  Can convince someone to get themselves killed, but not to lower the price on goods. Go figure.

Taly'siana: This merry widow, on the other hand, haggles and does not mind dealing with mercantile related matters. And will use that to her advantage quite a bit.  Well - unless she knows the person would starve his family if she did so. Then she would not.  That just would make her feel too bad!

Galdern:- Is still barred from going anywhere near a Tailor's on his own. He may only look at a piece of clothing, he may not attempt to make his own. This is for the good of all, as Galdern really really sucks at clothing design.

Iyanna:- Was originally going to be a cold and distant elf, who didn't interact with the human world all that much. Until certain characters got to her, and changed her. At this point the very thought of playing her that way is something I just couldn't do.
:- When she first arrived in Arabel hid under the Old Willow Tree in her own private little domain once she was under it those outside it couldn't see her.
:- Used to go up to the Clerics of every faith she met asking about their gods, having previously believed there to be only five.

Fun Fact:
The event in the past where James St. Bell and Hydaro get trapped in an illusionary world that acts as a nightmare, that ended up being created by a demon, and eventually got to the point where the two had to go on a brutal pilgrimage through the Abyss in order to escape. That back story for the two characters actually came from one of our role plays a few years back when Yhposolihp and I thought it would be cool if we had a role play on a game called Dark Souls as James and Hydaro, along with some other characters. We have role played as the two characters on many other games before, Baldur's Gate games, Icewind Dale, even the newer Neverwinter game, and mainly on Neverwinter Nights. Dark Souls was one of the newer ideas we went with before going back to Neverwinter Nights again, and the story worked out beautifully. Alot of the things that happened in our role play through Dark Souls could be applied to actual Forgotten Realms lore, so it's a back story we stuck with before we hopped on the Cormyr and Dalelands server.

So that's where that story spawned from, where the two went through hell (quite literally) for several months before returning as broken men who had to rebuild their lives piece by piece after the event, with it going so far as Hydaro having to learn how to walk again, and all participating (and surviving) characters came back to the world of the living slightly more mentally insane than before... Some more than others.

Rocket Raccoon! :D

Fun Fact:
Needless to say I'm excited for this movie and can't wait to see it in theatres. What movie? Guardians of the Galaxy, that's what movie, it generally came from a series of comics made by Marvel. One of the characters, Rocket Raccoon, is actually one of the two characters I based Hydaro's personality on. Although they removed Rocket's Cockney accent in this movie it seems (The Rocket Raccoon with a Cockney accent has a more similar voice to Hydaro's "Cockney" sounding accent, heard in the following link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=I8z3hG_9yNQ ), the angry, jaded, EX-con personality is still there and strong.

The latest advertisement for the movie can be seen in the link below, check the movie out if you wanna see Hydaro on the big screen in the form of a space raccoon:

Amarae Dwin'arinth, my evil inactive Shevarashi, will actually smile.  She is not clergy, so she does not feel as compelled to not smile.  Granted, it is often a smile used for a specific purpose more than a real, happy smile.

Hydaro
Fun fact about Hydaro, his original family is one he refuses to accept he is a part of, mostly because he's a defiant bastard.
The second family name he received was "Juei'walin", the last name of Hal 'Tzer who made Hydaro his "foster son" (in actuality he made Hydaro a slave from kid ages to adult).

While Hydaro uses many of Hal 'Tzer methods and could be considered as cold hearted as Hal 'Tzer, Hydaro actually is one of the good guys. Sadly Hydaro's methods may give others the wrong impression.

It is why Hydaro is "simply Hydaro", because both of his -real- or close to real last names that he has had in his lifetime are ones he refuses to associate with.

However... Hydaro has had a history of changing his first and/or last name from time to time. Usually when he changes his first name the change is only temporary, used to hide out from certain folks who might be looking for him (whether they be the law or criminals). Sadly, he often gives names like "Bob","Bill","Gregory Smith", "Rico Suave", and "Eddie". He may realize that people aren't buying it, but it's his way of saying "None of your business", or simply a means to be silly. (Despite Hydaro's serious nature, he pretty playful hidden under that sculpted frown and corpse like appearance)

His last names on the other hand, while most of the time not kept for longer than a decade or two, act more as a title than they do a name.

If it sounds cool, it's fitting for a name. He looks at them like a comic book fan looks at super heroes.
He may not admit it, but he's still a child at heart.

Ife introduces herself as "Ife'a de clan Ssanyu, daughta'f de Daceiva'n danca'f de Chultan eart'."

The Ssanyu clan is a group of families, headed by the Ssanyu family, originally started many moons ago by a man named Ssanyo the Happy and his hyena companion. To remember Ssanyo, the Ssanyu replace one or some of their teeth with ones of gold so that all of their expressions smile as brightly as he had.

As the daughter of the Deceiver, she is implying devoutness to Ubtao - the Curator of Chult. Ife believes he is called the Deceiver because, ultimately, free will is the ultimate deception. For Ubtao, life and death are both a maze (the latter being a bit more like a real maze than the former), and in a maze you only have so many options. Existence is in the style, not in the will. He tricks you into believing you have a choice in the matter, thus "deceiving" you!

A dancer of Chultan earth refers to her background as a spirit dancer, where she would often temper more mischievous and restless spirits by dancing with them and "leading" them back to their peace. Her powers don't function well outside of her home, as the spirits are a lot less tangible (or outright hostile), hence the Chultan earth.

Kestal
Loves to write. Her journals are extensive and she's tried her hand at some fiction as well.

Is still incredibly klutzy in her "new" body, despite having been Dragonborn for years now. She was not exactly dextrous as a human, and her rebirth only amplified that. It took her several months to learn to fly.

Likes fancy dresses.

Is still immensely modest and very shy about showing a lot of skin... despite the fact that she doesn't have skin anymore, just scales.

Her hair, likewise, is actually long strands of scale; she no longer has any actual hair. Her eyebrows are scaly ridges along her forehead.

----

Raven
Speaks six languages, not counting Common and Elven. Not bad for a Fighter.

Has three actual names - her given name, her Drow name, and her Kara-Turan name. She considers them all equally real.

Is utterly inept at anything involving magic, hence having no ranks in UMD.

Is completely tone-deaf.

----

Caprice
Has many children. She doesn't talk about them much for reasons.

Loves paperwork, numbers, calculations, and bookkeeping. Lucky for Rhea.

Despite - or perhaps because of - her insane metabolism, is a teetotaler. It's extremely easy to get her drunk. She doesn't stay drunk for long, but getting there takes surprisingly little, even factoring in her size.

----

Shezzarin
Her favorite hobby is wood-carving/whittling.

She collects random junk because it's "interesting".

Her reference to herself in the third person at all times ("This one" instead of "I", "me", etc.) is a defensive habit picked up early in her youth, not anything intrinsic to her fey nature.

Has a surprisingly good singing voice and can dance as well.

----

Cyrillia
Once nearly died in a fire that burned an inn down around her, and had a phobia of fire for months afterward, to the point where she couldn't cast fire spells or wield flaming weapons. Not a good prospect for a cleric of Talos. Still prefers electricity or ice spells over fire when given the option.

Was born barren/infertile, and desperately has always wanted children of her own. A druid managed to repair whatever internal damage/birth defect caused the former, but she's never managed to have a lover/partner stick around long enough to start a family. She does, however, have an adopted daughter - a ten-year-old Ice Genasi named Emari.

She is terrified of scorpions, but has no issue (beyond "Eugh Lolth") with spiders.

----

Edge
His real name is Morton Aloysius. He hates it.

He has terrible, terrible luck with evil priests. A duergar cleric took his eye. He got cursed by a priest of Cyric once, and again by a priestess of Shar.

He finds cats shifty and untrustworthy.

He likes tea. Blame Bastian.

----

Kendaku
She prefers surface elf wine to most Drow concoctions. Heresy, I know.

She has a horrid phobia of bats.

She grows her hair so long because as a child she was forced to keep it shorter than her sisters' and it's a way of stepping out of their shadows (despite them being dead and her being an exile/runaway).

Her performance style of choice is dance, which is what she uses during combat. However she is skilled with a fair array of string and woodwind instruments.

Why not.

Veir has three separate horses, and being a cavalryman from the boots up, he dotes on them a lot.  His courser, Blossom, spooks easily and has almost thrown him a couple times, but is very sociable.  His charger Heinrich is a massive Chessentan destrier and is just about as likely to bite or kick as he is to allow someone to pet him.  Veir's third horse, his palfrey, or general riding horse, is named Elise, after his youngest niece, and has the calmest demeanor of any of his horses.

Speaking of his family, they live in Suzail, and are fairly well off, as he sends his wages to his family, supporting himself through temple duties and other income.  He is quite a family man, though PCs don't see that often.  Actually, if you get past his gruff black and white view of good and evil, he's pretty likable.

Khorigesh, well there's not much too him that isn't readily apparent.  He kind of sticks out.  However, some people may be interested to find out that he is one of a very few half-dragons to be hatched to a female dragon rather than born to a mother of a humanoid species.

Nadia is a savant and is able to at times focus her mind on something she views and be able to carry out that same task exactly. Her initial combat prowess came not from training, but observing a display of practice maneuvers. Each and every swing of her sword is a copy of one she'd studied back then, during her time with the white cloaks, and even when out on adventures with other weapon users. The same with her shield maneuvers, stances, dancing, even "ordinary" tasks like baking or farming from her younger years. There are many things her talent has been incapable of mimicking, but she's always done it without consciously knowing it simply via concentration.

Rin tries to keep up a rough exterior and "devil may care" attitude, but she isn't completely rotten. She's also apparently got "mommy" issues I thought she was over, although she'd be the last to say anything. She's also very confused when it comes to men, delighting in leading them on or teasing, but has no idea how to handle them (usually just settling for a trite excuse to break things off before they start).

Jace may be an inter-dimensional visitor, a time-traveler, or he may be batshit insane. He's beginning to understand how latches and knobs work on doors, at least.

James learned to read and write in Elvish before he learned to do so in Common. He'd learned the Elven language from Hydaro and other elves over time, and was taught to spell in the language as well! From there, he took some time "un-translating" most of the stuff he learned.

Also, if you hadn't spoken to him in the language already, you can tell that speaking in the elven tongue isn't his first language based on how rigid and formal his speech is. He even loses his accent!

Hydaro
Hydaro's features are alot different from the average elf, with arms packed with muscles strong enough to pull ogres apart, long WoW Nightelf style eye brows, a large nose, and a wide chin and jaw that is as hard as tightly compressed stone... So much so that once upon a time I considered making Hydaro's back story be where one of his parents was a dwarf and the other was an elf, seeing as he pretty much looks like a taller, beardless dwarf. That plan changed during an Icewind Dale 2 role play where James found a sword with Hydaro's name on it, and gifted it to him, which in the long run, ended up being Hydaro's father's sword.

Fun little fact about Hydaro, he could have been a Half Dwarf/Half Elf. :)

2 Fun Facts:

Jay of the Dark Hand was originally inspired by I.C.P. rapper Violent J.

Jay of the Dark hand and Jaylithel Thoslethin both origined from the same character concept.

The first was a halfling who was mentally off. Childlike, and socially awkward/stunted in development but very intelligent. Exceptionally gifted in roguish arts without even really trying to be. Being small, he always took side with the underdog, the oppressed, but his ways of "helping" were often extreme and violent. Like a child he had near instant trust with those who were kind and friendly towards him.

When I moved on to another server (Devil's Den) from my original (RDR), I was still too in love with the character to let him go, but I wanted to twist it up a bit since I was starting at level 1 again. Instead of being a halfling, I made him a small elven child. This would become Jaylithel. Eventually he would grow up. The two took decidedly different paths and one or the other other made their way to every server I played on since. CD was the first and only to ever have both versions.

The Blood Cloaks, the group of warriors and killers that Hydaro came from, many of their ways and culture are based off of ancient Mayans if their culture had been carried on to more of a medieval fantasy time period. It's where I pulled the idea of the tribal like tattoos and occasional piercings, as well as making brutal and persistent warriors that kill at the command of their lord, as well as killing off their weakest members as a form of sacrifice. The red circle branding on their faces are symbols of rank, going as high as 4 brands, with the fourth being the highest. Each Blood Cloak member wears a single gauntlet with sharp metal claws, helpful as most of their kills consist of ripping off the head or ripping out the heart of a victim that is still alive. They have some obsession with being drenched in their enemies blood, each of their cloaks started out white and was actually stained with blood (hence the name, Blood Cloaks). They don't fear death because they lack self awareness, accepting that they are nothing more than a weapon for their lord to wield. Aside from the Mark Rankings, each Blood Cloak is trained in a set of different categories:

Phantom (Spider or Snake is their symbol), often staying hidden and striking from the shadows, most of the time specifically to protect Three Mark or higher.
Example: Mort, Princess

Challenger (Predator cats like Lions or Tigers are their symbol) , fearless, terrifying(almost monstrous in nature) presence and prefer to face off against much bigger/gigantic/formidable foes, these are the frontline head hunters/warriors.
Example: Hydaro, Grambell

Shaman (Scavenger birds like vulchers, crows or ravens are their symbol) are often practitioners of Necromancy, and are in charge of both raising babies, toddlers, children to the age of 10 before placing them into the cold, isolated hell that is the life of a Blood Cloak growing up. They are also in-charge of brain washing their members at a young age.
Example: Raven

I'll bite at this fun little thing here...

Tavaris Rook
-This character's name is actually an anagram of my own with an added letter. ;)
-Was inspired by a very low point in my life where I just wanted a character that was purely fun/joy. Hence Lliiran, boyish, and fun-loving bard.
-Has a Greensteel Longsword but never uses it.
-Is intended to be something of a caricature of myself when I was younger. I tended to lack wisdom (youth, heh.), be incredibly idealistic, and set near-impossible goals for myself that I would doggedly pursue - much like Tavaris with his dragons.
-I have 0 artistic talent: can't sing, can't really dance well, am a bit unforgiving...pretty much the exact opposite of Tavaris' outgoing, upbeat nature. As an analog for myself this is where I made Tavaris what I wanted to be rather than what I was.

Nimuri Salil
-Pretends to be a nymphomaniac but in actuality is very selective in her partners (so she's a terrible tease).
-Was actually in love once when she was younger.
-Has a more fleshed-out background than any of my other characters on the server - with an incomplete back story over 15 pages long so far.
-Is somewhat based on the prevalence of 'slutty' female characters found in much fantasy gaming/writing and fiction. She was inspired by a desire for a character who most would consider intended only for cyber (ironic because I never have and never will cyber with her. ;) ) but that actually has a strong mechanical build and powerful, tragic rp behind her.
-Is currently shelved because the concept isn't working the way I'd like. Nimuri doesn't do well in a vacuum, but for the majority of the time I've played her she's had little to no interaction with others so I've put her up for the time being.

Kalerat 'Voss' Plamen
-Voss' first and last names are taken from Romani and translate to: Black Blood (a reference to his demonic nature) and Flame (a separate reference to his fiery wings). Voss was chosen as a nickname at the time of his creation because I'd intended the character to have a personality very similar to a character I played on another server long ago named Stenvoss (Stonefox) who was a constitution-based barbarian with similar temperament to the current Voss. According to Urban Dictionary: Voss is also a word used to describe "a really hot guy that is handsome and has an extremely large penis" or "a very erotic man that ladies would love to have their way with". I seriously did not know this until today.
-Voss wears a collar ever since he forced Mouse to wear one and then did something terrible to her. She placed the collar sized for her around his neck to prove a point, but Voss took a different meaning from it and continues to wear it out of memory of that lesson. This occurrence was a major turning point for the character and this one moment of rp defines a -lot- of his character in terms of how he feels towards Mouse, women in general, personal responsibility, and strength.
-Voss is actually a very good cook...for some things. Ironically, everything on the Prime tastes of ash to him, so while he can cook well he can't enjoy the benefits of it.
-Is the first half-fiend character I've ever played! (hope I do the template justice!)
-For a while, every time Voss' took off his pants 'Dwarf and Orc' would play from his manhood. Not ironically, 'Dwarf and Orc' is Mouse's favorite song. This happened due to a curse placed on him by a vengeful half-dragon at Mouse's request instead of a more severe retribution.

Lilithiira 'Lily' Crimsonclaw
-Name is derived from Lilith (one of my favorite female names) and the classical fantasy female -ira ending of a name because I wanted to name her Lilith but didn't want to have the same name as another, popular character on the server. ;)
-Concept is based heavily on real-world tribal cultures and views as well as a lot of lore and info-digging into Malar's dogma, history, and relationship with the Black Blood Tribe
-A lily is a flower strongly associated both with purity and death. These aspects are key to understanding Lily's personality in that she is - in a weird way - very pure of heart and innocent in many things; and she is also brutal and violent with a very fatalistic and feral view of the world (hence Death).
-Lily - like Nimuri - was in part inspired due to a disturbing trend I've noticed in fantasy gaming and roleplay wherein 'uncivilized' characters are represented as unintelligent and stereotypical. My goal with Lily is to portray a character with a tribal background as intelligent but disconnected with the world she's trying to fit into and to show the steps she takes to rectify her two worlds and evolve as a character.
-Is a werewolf (duh!), but being a natural-born lycanthrope is based more heavily on the Native American myths and legends of 'skinwalkers' than the traditional European idea of Lunacy and people turning into werewolves under the light of the full moon (and suffering violent madness as a result).
-Lily is - in my opinion - the most tragic character I've ever played. Something very dark lies in this character's background, and while I may -hint- at it in rp or in posts, only those who truly come to understand the character are likely to ever see it (partly because it's a very squick topic and I'd rather keep it away from people who'd be offended by it).
-Is more vain than Nimuri!

Lanius Israfel
-Name is derived from Latin 'Butcher' or 'Executioner' (Lanius, Lanii) and alludes to Edgar Allan Poe's poem Israfel which itself references the Islamic burning trumpet angel Israfil (a sort of patron to bards, singers, and those with a skill for words)
-Uses a scythe not as a symbol of death or reaping (which doesn't exist as an image in FR) but of life and rebirth (as: Chauntea wields a scythe, making it a symbol of the harvest and agriculture)
-Writes nursery rhymes and children's stories
-Is an illusionist who revels in the disparity between reality and illusion. His favorite trick is making illusionary doughnuts and handing them out to others to see the looks on their faces when they bite into nothing...or occasionally to smirk when the illusion works and they taste a delicious sweet treat that isn't really there.
-Appears insane and very well might be, though some have made sense of his cryptic ramblings.
-His propensity for illusions has him constantly looking for deeper meanings in everything he encounters...to the extent that sometimes he'll invent a deeper meaning where one doesn't exist.
-Is a theurge and low-level, so I play him very seldom as leveling him solo is very grind-y and not much fun.

Tahlruil Kennyr'lylth
-Name is derived from Tolkien Elvish and means "Blade Prince Sworn to the Sword"
-Would technically be considered minor elven nobility in the region of Tangled Trees and High Forest, but his lineage is impossible to verify
-Has been to Myth Drannor after its fall and intends to return (the first visit did not go well)
-Believes himself to be descended from a valiant - and famous - elven warrior who fell in the last stand before Myth Drannor was overrun. Despite the incongruity in time periods given Tahl's age (he was born almost a hundred years -after- the fall of Myth Drannor), Tahl still believes he's descended from this warrior.
-His real father was an elvish council member in Tangled Trees and was an established musician, painter, and poet.
-Makes tentacles using a combination of conjuration magic, necromancy, and evocation. These tentacles are constructs and not extraplanar creatures or simple conjured summons. Due to their nature, though, they require a heavy investment of resources to create, rarely last very long without falling apart or exploding, and are severely limited in function - only able to perform 1 or 2 menial tasks for which they're created and not much else.
-Tahl attributes a great deal more sentience to the tentacles he makes than they actually have - in part due to his loneliness and need for companionship
-Has a brother.
-Wears 3 significant symbols tied into his hair - each representing a different aspect of his personality
-Believes elves have become lost to their traditions and are declining as a race due to their isolationism and unwillingness to embrace change
-Hypocritically believes (despite the above) that he is the greatest mage to have ever lived -or that will ever live, and this is due in part to the natural advantage elves have towards magecraft over other races

Ayaka 'Yaya' Radan
-Was born in Arabel's sewers and smells of them (ew)
-Has a very large family that she's very loyal to.
-Is incredibly greedy - particularly for shining treasures or Eastern items
-Doesn't actually hate baths as many would think but refuses to take them for a petty personal reason (making surfacers suffer her stench is her protest against how the poor of Arabel are treated and cast aside - particularly those forced to live in the sewers).
-Is trying to save up money to make her family safer
-Has based much of her life on what she's read about Kozakuran samurai, ninja, and society in Ten-copper action stories she's found floating in the sewers and has no idea that these caricatures of the culture are incredibly inaccurate
-Name is based on 'Yaya' from Unbreakable Machine Doll the animation because the two characters couldn't be more different
-Last name means 'Rat' in Bosnian
-Has an -incredible- constitution and seems able to eat anything (including molded or diseased food)...but has a severe allergy to milk and dairy products
-Despite her stench, shes' very good at sneaking around and even will bathe before going into a situation she knows she needs to be her stealthiest. At such times she will even wear perfume to mask the scent and help conceal herself.
-Likes Eastern scents of orchids, tea, and cherry blossoms and -occasionally- might be caught wearing such fragrances for pleasure.
-Is a tomboy in the truest sense of the word...but secretly envies the noble women she's heard of and seen and fantasizes about what she'd look like cleaned up and dressed up as a noble.

Logarti! - *could probably keep rambling here forever but doesn't want to spoil everything*

-He is less truly chaotic then he seems at times. Most of what he does is based off something he has learned to do or not do ICly.
-He very much was born on Toril and gets nervous about planar traveling. It embarrasses him that he knows very little about it and gets scared... which embarrasses him more. He learns slowly which adds to the fear he will just die doing something ignorant on one.
-He isn't overly fond of sugary things, but adores honey. It was exceptionally rare for him to have and one of the few things he doesn't over think when he has it.
-The only make up he wears is on his toes. Gold lacquered on. Any other make up, particularly lipstick alarms him.
-His attraction to deals doesn't fully come from his tainted blood, or he would make better ones! (I hope)
-He does stupid things brilliantly. Wisdom isn't his strength.
-He was going blind for a long time. Its why he had light up so often and identified people by their clothing. It was something that greatly panicked him and he thought was divine punishment which only made it worse.
-Doesn't do well in locked places without an escape.
-Highly respects and values faith, even the ones he disagrees with.
-Tends to calm down when he is warmer. Cold makes him (more) cranky or guarded.
-When he learns he tries to revaluate and it changes him. He is ever changing for better or worse.
-Studies the work of Congenio Ioun and collects Ioun stones and gets excited seeing them. He fantasizes someday he will be able to make one. He wants to find a meteor for it.
-When he gets addicted to something it hits hard and takes a lot to not slip (sedatives, plane of radiance, blood..)
-Works to let things go, the mountains of clothes he amasses, trinkets, perceived slights, anger, shame. (always encumbered or factually out of room in his bag. I keep trying to clear it... some!)
-Tries to not wear red overly often because he thinks it gives people the idea he is up to dark things, and doesn't wear red robes ever.
-Tries not to get intimidated by far more knowledgeable wizards, which is most of them. He is a bit ashamed at his lack of knowing what many do, but pushes on.
-He is superstitious! Knows he shouldn't be but super is.
-If he is not in his form he is generally in the one of a dragon. When super startled he used to turn into a pixie.
-Chances are if a question passes through his mind he might just ask it. (I'm so sorry)
-Tastes a lot of things. Rocks, blood, plants,... eye sockets and pissed off potentially living weapons...
-He -DOES- feel shame I swear! Just.. not on most socially expected things.
-Fears the gods taking notice of him more then the exceptionally few times he has asked, and still fears it.
-Does actually keep covered outside Stonehaven, and to a lesser extent the square in Arabel. He makes mistakes when he is drunk or really pissed off and posturing to the world, but tries to not be like that often.
-Thinks snakes are neat. Likes how they manage without limbs. Dragonflies are his insect of choice.
-Advocates going at least one day a month without using magic and does so himself. But varies the day like the paranoid person he is.
-Got in a cat fight with an actual cat, and lost. It won by getting tangled in his hair.. and pulling some out.
-Will charge in first to bleed a dragon for his spells, still is more terrified of his father.
-OOC: I made a character I wanted to see how learning from adventurers/life would turn out. I blame you all <3

Jarlyn-

-Younger then he seems! Though age/life is catching up with him. Adventuring messes you up.
-Spends a long time making clothes for people, thinking of them while he works. It is relaxing to him.
-Gets zero joy from killing. Its all just a job to him.
-Peppermint is his favorite scent in a way.
-Has a Jillian based rainbow dress. Recruited someone to work for the Flame while wearing it. No he does not like to wear dresses. He doesn't trust women in them either.
... resigned from the Flame once in a rainbow suit. O_o He has odd fun.
-Has started to wood carve tiny animals.
-Wears far too tight clothes to feel if someone is trying to stick something on him to scry. More people probably know the shape of his backside then his face.
-Almost stole Lala when she was a baby but returned her when he realized he couldn't feed her.
-He enjoys the sound of music. Well played and it can distract him almost fully.
-Adores Mirabell's brand of humor. Keeps him on his toes but he can relate. She brings out his playful side effortlessly. For as stunted as that side is.
-Sugar isn't his friend. The cake at the Lyre messes him up good. Gets twitchy and impulsive and very restless.
-After living hard for so long he is starting to let go and slip up. It will probably be the death of him if depression/physical problems don't get him first... or Deldur. I think Beshaba won his coin toss for life.
-Steals hair... a lot.
-Was trained to obey and protect. Coming to Arabel tossed him into a weird situation that fostered that behavior over years into obsession.
... doesn't have a compulsion to shut doors I swear! He just does a lot. Almost always. ._.'
-OOC: When I made him he was going to be colorblind and wearing yellow. Decided not to go that way and turned it instead to his favorite color!

Some generally harmless stuff!

Jae:

-Her surname, O Cathasaigh, is ye olden equivalent of "O'Casey" -- and when in doubt, should generally be pronounced as such.
-Wears her hair up because she doesn't typically liking dealing with how curly it is.
-Wears war paint to battle under her helm, applying it as she prays.
-Is actually a pretty decent seamstress.
-Is my oldest currently active character, having been played over two FR servers and derived from a paladin character with the same name on a server before that.
-Is something of a tribute to my lovely woman, her curly redheadishness, her Irishness, and her vast knowledge of Celtic history that occasionally shines through.
-Is significantly more knightly than she used to be, and still has a tendency to lapse into being a fierce, wild, and ruthlessly cunning warrior -- don't let the fancy armor and proper clothes fool you!

Kiris'yar (Kris):

-Pretty much a walking monument to autism. She takes every social lesson and every habit I've learned to adjust and appear "normal" in the real world and chucks it out the window. She's my way of cutting loose, being more myself than the world typically allows, and doing and saying the first things that come to mind, from the overly literal to the highly absurd.
-Tends to prefer the "elven" side of her heritage, having had much more positive experiences among them than her human parentage.
-Is typically much less confused or lost than she appears to be. She just doesn't express it well.
-Loves cooking. Try her umberhulk pie!
-Once ran a fairly successful business.

While I enjoy Savateem, he is often difficult for me to play.  I am generally pretty bad at evil characters (out of the dozens of characters I have made in various settings sav is only the third evil character I would say I have played 'successfully').  My trouble playing him is that I'll be in a group having a lot of fun.  I'll be enjoying the other players characters immensely, but all sav will feel is "they are useful". Or "they are useless".  Makes ME feel bad *laughs*

Alexandra Hohlenberg

- most of the rings on her fingers are purely decorative, but a couple actually have meaning
- despite appearances, she actually enjoys housework to some extent but she'd never admit it. It actually calms her down sometimes.
- despite the housework, she has never, ever, ever cooked a meal in her life. The thought terrifies her.
- like most Tethyrites, she considers the number five unlucky.

Some Fun Facts about Aelie!

- Only recently (Last RL month or so) learned what her last name is.  She still hasn't begun using it.
- Tends to knit when she's bored, a habit she picked up about 18 RL months ago.
- Doesn't hate drow as much as she claims to.  As long as they introduce themselves and don't try to kill her.
- Has two complete schools of magic she can't use.
- Despite her ditzy demeanor, she has a respectable Intelligence score and is surprisingly well-educated.
- Has a hyperactive metabolism.  Interestingly, a hyperactive metabolism often does make people tired!
- Is an extremely good chess/lanceboard player.
- Collects trophies of her past accomplishments.
- Surprisingly well-accomplished in non-adventure pursuits!
-- Co-owns the Red Briar Casino and Clockwork Security.
-- De facto head of the Violet Flame.
-- Has been on Arabel's Council since it was open to adventurers.
-- Friends with five noble families - Truesilver, Hardcastle, Rallyhorn, Marliir, and Preston.
-- Opened a Trade School in the Southern District for the poor and disadvantaged (that was going to be an actual area, but the file got lost).
- Has been to the Far Realm on two separate, unrelated occasions.
- Both parents were druidic shapeshifters.  Explains a lot doesn't it?
- Has met Khelben 'Blackstaff' Arunsen (who she fangirled over) and former Mage-Royal Vangerdahast (who scared her).
- Has worn the exact same cloak design since the day her character was created.
- Favorite food, apple pie!

Xavier: In addition to having been trained as a tailor before studying magic and being an excellent hand with a needle, he is extremely skilled with hairstyling thanks to his older sister frequently enlisting his help as a child.

Andrina: While studying in Waterdeep, Andi picked up an addiction to terrible romance and pulp fiction novels due to how cheaply they could be bought in large quantities. She has yet to shake this habit. Though she started out simply to make fun of the writing, she actually finds herself somewhat invested in the plotlines from time to time.

Lets see...

When I first got into RPing, one of the biggest pieces of advice for me was to try and model a character off of a character I already knew. That way, if I was ever confused, just think "What would they do?". In this light, Angelina was originally based off of the character Alanna from Tamora Pierce's Song of the Lioness Quartet, one of my favorite book series growing up.

Well, it's been a while, so...

Morghan
-Is actually afraid of the dark, or rather... is afraid of what she can't see.
-Used to be extremely over-protective of Megan, and occasionally slips back into that habit.
-Loves to sew.  She tends to sew her outfits (such as they are ;) ), make quilts, etc.  It's a pragmatic habit, and she hates to throw away cloth that could be reused.
-In NWN2, Morghan was a Favored Soul/Stormlord, rather than the Tymorn cleric she is on CD.  If played in Pathfinder, she'd be a Warpriest.
-On another server, went by the name Morrigan.

Alex
-
has a rather large family:  Nikolai (older brother, disowned), Edge (older brother, adopted), Mariya (younger sister), Andrina (younger sister, adopted)
-was training as a paladin (squire), but failed the trials
-is really gullible.  She knows this, and still has trouble telling when people are being sincere or joking (or worse).  As a result, she tends to take everything either seriously or skeptically.
-Doesn't like when people stand behind her.
-Tends to work through her problems... literally?  She thinks best when fighting, cleaning, or just generally doing something other than sitting around.
-Is embarrassed about being embarrassed.

Galen Kreiss

-
Hates his real name, Azariah Melchiott
-Despite an air of niceness and uncertainty, Galen is an excellent soldier. Under the command of Kyrasincthas he was efficient and dedicated, surviving years of war with a decorated service.
-Galen draws some of his aspects from myself, specifically bieng ex-military, overly nice and utterly terrified of women.
-I didn't really know how Galen was going to turn out. Coming back to play nwn on a multiplayer server for the first time in years, I just threw him out there as a starting-out character. After deciding on his rough story and playing him for a few weeks, I pretty much decided he'd be my main char to play, and the developments afterward such as: Meeting Lily, Draconic heritage, making more and more friends etc. have made him one of my most enjoyable characters.
-Galen actually has several iterations spanning many games/pnp's, CD being one of the more recent ones. Others include: Gale Korris, a bounty hunter in star wars pnp. Kreiss Harron an Au Ra lancer in FFXIV. Kreiss Melchiott a sniper in Valkyria Chronicles pnp. And about a dozen others.
-Now being 6'10'', he's a lanky bastard. Also he's a whole two feet taller than Lily which is hilarious.

Illix Shimmerscale

-
His stutter is not mechanical, but psychological, and can be suppressed under certain circumstances.
-Illix's chosen middle name, Fieser, is a direct reference to the inventor of napalm
-Despite his constant claims to the contrary, Illix is an exceptionally brave individual, having survived ordeals and faced odds that would break most.
-Illix again draws on some aspects from myself, the social anxieties created by previous experience, general love of technology and engineering and strong feelings about oppressive government.
-Illix is terrified of heights
-His design and combat RP revolves heavily around his inventions, namely his gauntlet capable of launching firebombs, giving electric jolts and projecting a jet of flame. His limbless crossbow, which uses a geared pump action to move internal springs and load bolts from a cartridge loaded underneath. And his longbow, which uses gears and pistons to allow a not terribly strong individual to draw a hugely powerful bow.

Orokol Bloodborne

-Orokol is very quickly getting tired of the bear puns.
-
His name is actually nothing to do with the PS4 game, awesome as it is. Orokol is a hungarian root word for "He Who Inherits", while Bloodborne means "Chosen Blood"
-His attraction and relationship with Megan still scares the hell out of him
-Is based very heavily on a friend of mine, Captain Harvey Colchester, who is unfortunately no longer with us. We all used to call Harvey "Bearbear", because he was 6'6'' and built like a tank, but one of the cuddliest, loveliest people I've ever known.
-His faith in Tyr is extreme, though he practices and percieves that faith very differently to most. He will never say he "serves" Tyr, but "walks with" or "Aids".
-Is a Werebear, and proud. Though his heritage gives him a solitary, quiet tilt, he uses it proudly in his work for Tyr.

Vruuk Hurnsar

-Hrmm.... Vruuk sees little use in this list, but will oblige.
-Vruuk finds Arabel folk to be confusing.... Am think they put something in water
-Best friend is Voli, bear Am meet as child. Voli very wise, but fat.
-Am good freinds with Tentz family, but Am think require intervention
-Hrm, Am fond of cakes from Lyre... could use one now
-... Vruuk out.

Whew, time to give this a try. I mean, everyone else is doing it, soooo...

Katarenna 'Mouse' Swyft

Mouse's real name is Katarenna Swyft. Only Voss, Kelendel, Tavaris, and Xavier know it - and Xavier's probably forgotten, having only heard it once. Voss is less than pleased that anyone other than himself is privy to that bit of knowledge.

She is the only living scion of a once-wealthy merchant house in Sembia - both parents are dead, though only those closest to her know the how and why.

She was once a Selunite, and it was a Selunite priest who gave her the nickname Mouse - though disillusionment with the church has led to a separation, and she now follows Lliira. Though she's not the most devout follower, she does try, to Voss' constant irritation.

From the age of four until she was 19, Mouse could not talk. She stopped when she was four, and then from lack of use, she lost the ability. In this last year, she began to regain her voice, first only able to whisper, and only with great pain, but then slowly, she was able to talk, and with Rhea's training, to sing and play several instruments. Only a handful of people know what healed her voice - it's a well-guarded secret.

Mouse spent most of her childhood and young adulthood in various states of slavery, poverty and starvation. Even now that she's matured some and has grown into slightly more elegant manners, she has a habit of hoarding food, so she can almost always be counted upon to have some food to share (if she likes you enough).

Because of her childhood issues, she rarely got sweets, so upon arriving in Arabel, she fast developed a sweet tooth and was given to the excesses of one long-deprived. Hunting with Voss for larger prey than rats, bugs, and stray dogs and cats that had sustained her in her younger days helped to curb this somewhat, but she's still rarely known to refuse chocolate.

She also hadn't owned a toy of her own since the age of 4 - so when she drew a wind-up kobold from Santa Phedra's bag at Midwinter, it was curiously significant to her - and it's now one of her three most treasured possessions.

The other two are a ring made for her by Logarti with Voss' tooth in it, and a zendalure stained with the blood of a baby blue dragon. The former was the result of a fist fight between Arti and Voss 'for fun,' but the second is a little more complicated. The stone was given to her, sans blood, by Peppyr, to whom she had given a book written about her by Tavaris in lieu of allowing him to keep her as his own pet Mouse (while Peppyr was mad for this idea and swore he could take care of her much better than his pet lizard that had the temerity to go and die for no good reason at all, to Mouse, this smacked too much of the slavery she'd worked so hard to escape, and in a panic, she gave him the book instead). A few tendays later, she was traveling with Tavaris, the man she'd come to call brother, seeking the song of a blue dragon. They rescued a baby blue, but to placate the mother's suspicions and vanity, she gave her the stone, as it was the most valuable gem she possessed. The mother gave it to the baby, and the grateful baby (whom Mouse had healed) rolled it into a puddle of its own blood and urged Mouse to keep it. (Tavaris still maintains it's gross that she won't wash it off).

She calls Tavaris her brother because he was the first person to really look more deeply at the mute orphan. He celebrated and believed in her when some simply mocked her gestures and her silence, and she'll always remember.

She also thinks of Clay as a brother, but the two of them bonded more over shared snark than anything else.

Mouse will eat bugs just to gross people out, but they're probably her least favorite thing to eat, ever. She still recalls a time when they were the only meal she could get, some nights.

Some think she should be offended when Voss calls her Rat, but she considers it an honor - because he names her after the Rashemi totem known for its penchant for surviving through endless hardship.

Sylwyn 'Roisin Dubh' Tyr'undlin

She is an Unseelie fey - a leanan sidhe to be precise - and a Lady of the Winter Court. (Currently, however, she's mortal - her essence stolen by an alternate version of her that had been tormented in Narthenera. She now appears to be quite human, though she strongly resembles the elven glamour she wore to hide her true image from crowds of mortal men and women. Aside from her bardic magic, she has lost all that makes her fey, for now, save for her peerless beauty).

She knows where she was "born," but not how - crafted by the Queen of Air and Darkness from the dust of Howler's Crag and the shattered dreams of a once-proud Velethuil artist who died of sorrow over the loss of her gifts.

She is a bard, and has an exquisite voice, but prefers to sing the works of those she's inspired rather than her own, most of the time - an homage to her suitors, past and present (and in one recent case, a past that never was).

Though like all fey she has a distaste for asking a person's name directly and will ask what someone wishes to be called sometimes, she most often prefers to grant them a nickname that she feels best suits them - and it's not always flattering (though sometimes it is).

She has a very archaic way of speaking - she doesn't seem to find this nearly so strange as those around her do, though.

Sylwyn was created out of my desire to celebrate my life-long love of all things fey. Though she is chaotic evil, this alignment was chosen to reflect her required sustenance - she feeds on the creative spark of those she inspires, making it almost a sort of psychic vampirism. She actually does, in her own way, fall in love with each and every suitor, and mourns them for awhile when and if they die as a result of their time with her. That said, I wanted to portray with her the entirely alien nature of fey to mortal beings - including a vastly differing sense of morality. Sylwyn can and has done good things, and really doesn't have any malice towards most people.

Sylwyn is only 5'2" tall in her elven glamour, but she's even shorter in her true form, and has brilliant, fiery red hair and startlingly green eyes, and butterfly wings whose color changes with the seasons or her whims.

Though Voss has only the mildest of bardic magic about him and his stories are simply retellings of those of the Rashemi people in whose culture he was raised, she is inexorably drawn to the wilder, more chaotic side of his nature - because it calls to her own. She thinks of his fighting as dancing, though he heavily disputes this.

The greatest gift she's ever given so far was a song she gave to her very first suitor that has never, ever been heard by any other mortal being. The greatest gift she's ever received (though it's taking her time to come to view it this way) is her current experiences as a human - though she hopes this is not a condition that will linger.

(It is late, so I will edit this to add in other characters, later!)
