Let the floodgates open with some of my current favourites...
I just jam out to Pandora these days. My main station plays everything from VGM, Jrock, Kpop, 90s rap, to cheesy one hit wonders. I just added the vanilla "swing" station to it, and I have no regrets.
Kpop, I used to love you Redmage.
Wut, Big Bang so flyhy. ExDee You need to get more Seoul. ExDee
I tend to vary between video game OSTs, OC Remix, and chiptunes on one side, and metal on the other. At the moment I'm on
this guy's YouTube channel going through his compilations, but yesterday I had
Kamelot on loop almost all day.
I'll come up with a full list of my usual listen-tos when I get home.
Ugh, I've been obsessed with the Snake Eater OST, Japanese and English for the passed few weeks. Everytime it comes on SaltyBet, the twitch chat goes RIP in peaces.
Love Coheed and Cambria. I have Sirius on the college radio channel or else I'm listening to some of my prodigious collection of MP3s from my gigantic and completely IP legit music collection; Lorde, Gorillaz, Pavement, Menomena, Helio Sequence, Bjork and Katy Perry's new were on heavy rotation right alongside Black Sabbath - I'm all over the map.
I'm from NZ where lorde is sin. ;D Sabbath, love it!
I'll call you Kiwi from now on then.
Mostly been listening to The Piano Guys and other instrumental groups.
Bella,
You pulled one of my favs. I've been big on the Youtube peeps lately. Pentatonix, Eppic, Peter Hollens, Piano Guys, etc. Lots of a Capella / instrumental stuff.
Most recently been listening to this sort of thing.
In honor of the amount of baking going on...
In honor of the ticket I got on my way home form the in laws house. I have to work tomorrow, but the wifey and kiddos are staying an extra day. I got to drive solo with the radio cranked and little regard for posted signs.

Props for the Tech N9ne... got to see him in concert. Great show.
This was Jaylithel's theme for a while.... Guess I am walking down hatchet lane today for some reason.
Definite evil clown meme here, Oni
Definite evil clown meme here, Oni
Not evil... but definitely wicked.... cause the Wicked Clowns never die !
In a bit of a weird mood today.
Still in the mood for some old school rap...
Since the 50th I've been in a 11th Doctor fit, so this....
Because every now and then, I find classic country hilarious.
Loved that movie. Here's something fun:
Ogre Battle is the music that plays when we all attack the ogre fort!
I want to make a character called "Snow Dog" now.
I still use this song for testing speakers for their full range when shopping.
yeah.. memory lane continues... used to blast this on my JL Audios in the back of my '78 Trans Am at after game parties
Great song and an amazing video for its day.
From the best live performer out there right now.
Big into these guys right now, girl powah and all that shit..
This song, Cry by Two Steps from Hell/Thomas Bergersen, is exactly the music I imagine playing in the background while Zaeth, Daeatria, Alakton, Valar, Kelendel, Jarlyn, and Jaylithel proceed with the rescue mission going on in-game. :-D
I miss the old Times Square.
I am listening to this. Noor (Light In My Eyes) by Azam Ali. It actually is exactly how I picture Daeatria's voice sounding in her higher pitches, especially doing haunting folkloric songs.
A'Chantar Mer - Azam Ali.
I kept thinking of this song throughout most of the Anauroch desert quest that happened yesterday. It seemed pretty fitting, considering...
Okay, this girl completely floors Annette and Tarja in my opinion. She does not try to be either of them, but does their songs well. Not overly operatic and not overly like Annette.
...And no pun intended. I know her name is Floor Jansen. <.< She has been confirmed officially the new singer of Nightwish.
Sincerely,
Arya

Lindsey Stirling - Stars Align. This girl is phenomenal. She also consulted the people who did the Game of Thrones Soundtrack, if I am not mistaken. And all of her albums are 10.00 only for some reason - I wonder if she tries to keep them affordable!
Sincerely,
Arya
Another jewel from Lindsey Stirling - Beyond the Veil.
Quick tune while posting.
lol reading the comments of Thomas Tallis videos had me learn the Fifty Shades author had people looking up these songs? Whatevs.
Spem in Alium is a piece composed for eight choirs, each containing five singers which produces an amazingly complex call and response effect.
Woss, that's almost analog, Tum!
I've listened to this song before while sitting in Central Square on the server.
I was just now listening to it tonight while sitting in Central Square with Hydaro.
Was refreshing to hear, kind of made me fond of the Square again, and it fits Hydaro's tired old soul quite well.
Felt good to hear this while playing once again.
Did I link this before? Maybe. Oh well.
In memoriam of my lodestar, whom I hardly knew. Which makes tragic little sense.
Feeliing a little old school lately ... (bonus points to anyone who knows the name of the movie this song was in.. hint it was in the closing credits)
This was Jaylithel's old theme song back in the day.
I first heard this at a boat race after party and fell in love with it. All the rye helped, I'm sure.
Oh man. This guy. He did that Lion King Song...
It's like James Earl Jones reincarnated... through a time paradox, 'course.
Been in a Black Keys and Skillet mood lately.
Let the darkness take over... Do not fight the forces of dark.

Like, really, someone in the USA found it? Gee, internetz...

What I usually listen to while playing or writing:
(The whole playlist, not just the linked video)
I also listen to a lot of nightcore/nightstep which I'll link later.
For all my "dwarven" friends.
West Side Connection. Cause this is dope.
Might need to make this Badhbh's theme song
Breaking Benjamin - Blow Me Away
Saw these guys live at the first Rock on the Range. Great show.
Yes.. Another RWBY AMV. Its been my dirty addiction lately.
I've been meaning to look into RWBY ever since they announced it but have never managed to get around to it.
Yeah, sorry. I hope you'll all like this one better

Bulle-shit aside, I've been majorly into Bowie lately.
Captain Invincible's only weakness is alcohol.
If you thought Saruman had a honeyed tongue, see how Christopher Lee does as Mister Midnight.
Side note: I'm also très vin ordinaire.
For my darker moods. And characters.
Also a fantastic show, if you're slightly morbid in thought.
Two 6-strings and Bach? This guy is my fuckin' hero.
I want to play this game so bad.
EDIT: Now with 8-bit remix:
Some more Silversun Pickups today.
And a bit of Chevelle.
Older lesser known song song put to video of my all time fav anime
This thread needs more Amon Amarth
Because Nightwish. *sage nod*
Ming the Merciless approves of this track.
YOU'RE WELCOME. *
*Unless you knew it before, in which case may I say that you, sir or madam, have fine taste.
Two 6-strings and Bach? This guy is my fuckin' hero.
Oh my, I hadn't noticed this one. Very nice. If you like that you might like this:
You're all turning me on to some great music! Thank you! This is better than stupid any of those robot services.
But can you dig the sublimity of....
Just... wow. That must have taken a HELL of a LOT of work.
If you like Iron Maiden and the like...
Shoy shoy, if you don't like Iron Maiden at all:
Interesting cover and AMV for an early 90s classic
I am NOT listening to Uptown Funk on repeat (super shifty eyes)
Eventually I will finish this game, if only for this song. (The game itself is really fun! Bowser punching things and breathing fire! Mario and Luigi doing platforming puzzles! Fawful has much great fury! But I heard this song before I even heard of the game and this is what told me I HAVE TO PLAY THIS.)
Gonna keep it classy up in here.
~BR
Frankly,
A double-header seems excessive.
I am listening to this: long live Lydia!
I don't want to admit in reality I'm clicking on dubstep videos with extremely suggestive thumbnails featuring scantily clad women, so I'll post this to seem slightly less sad:
What?! It's in Pulp Fiction!
Discovered these guys earlier tonight on the radio (yes, the actual terrestrial radio!)
Feather got me hooked on Dougie Maclean (thanks Feather! =D)
You're welcome!
He even let's other people sing his songs and accompanies them like here:
Gotta love Massive Attack!

Yup, I do.

I like it, Valiea. It's... soothing.
Bela, that's amazing. I needed that song in my life. And now it is. I am a more complete person. ^.^
And thanks Thorien! Here's some more.
Another soothing Hooverphonic, Nightmares on Wax, and Emancipator!
Yeah, sure. I'll bite. (NSFW, or during Dinner or just...ever, really)
(...)
And thanks Thorien! Here's some more.
Another soothing Hooverphonic, Nightmares on Wax, and Emancipator!
Hooverphonic I managed to find earlier. ^^ Others are definitely good too!
Something for you then!
Found this by accident. Timo Tolkki, "Are You The One." Rather like it, though. Many on the Tube seem to think Sharon den Adel performed it. I can see why, mind.
Arya, that's because it is Sharon den Adel singing. Timo is just doing the, you know, everything else.
<.< Then why can't Amazon.com track it? Had to track the other.

~Arya
I have no idea. I know that song gets labelled as a Within Temptation song by a lot of people, because of Sharon singing on it.
Yaldabaoth is right. Her voice is exceptional.

Had a chance to hear WT live, about year ago and it was totally worth it. Sharon also participated in few more projects with other artists, though "Are you the one" is my personal favorite.
For example:
And that I even posted some time ago:
I am aware of that Thorien.
That said, I did some extra searching and it seems that she -did- do the vocals of that song. So yeah. Her voice rocks. I just do not understand why Amazon did not give her credit for it when selling the MP3 songs, so I thought Youtube.com fans were just being silly and mislabeling.
Sincerely,
Arya
Loved the songs!

Now here's a really, really weird one. This is from a band that does plunderphonics: taking records and cutting, editing, manipulating to make it sound something completely different. For this album, they used 3000 separate samples, and it is just beautiful! It isn't scratchy, nor is it just repetitious beats as happens with a lot of plunderphonics. The music video is also a really neat story.
Oh, come on, don't spoil my excuse to share pieces of awesome music Arya!

Valiea, I'll surprise you, I've heard it before. ^^ And, for something strange:
Yes, it is more than 12 minutes of song!

Loving Pure Reason Revolution and Patrick Norman!
So, some more:
Thievery Corporation, Tom Middleton, and Pogo.
So yeah.. having and 80s soundtracks flashback moment here...
From one of my favorite movies ever.
And since I am at work.... I should stick in a couple of aviation references... but I'll skip the most obvious one.
Yay, SOAD! ^^
Two others I like too, you're stuffing my playlist with goodies!
Onivel:
Obvious references like?:

Love SOAD and got to see Serj solo at Rock on the Range.
The Warrior Song vid was pretty sweet. I was thinking more of these when I said I'd skip the obvious ones ; )
She rocked the gold bikini better than Leia .. that's right I said it

Someone said 80s, so I just have to:
I'm probably going to get made fun of for liking BB, but I'm actually really looking forward to the new album to see what they come up with.
~BR

~BR
You wont hear anything bad form me.. saw them in concert at the first Rock on the Range. They were excellent.
Yup, I'm from Europe and never met anyone who actually knew BB.

For any of you people that appreciate Shoegaze or Post-Black Metal. Or metal about the life cycles of plants.
And a different kind of EPIC
Metal from the Middle East.
Melechesh - The Pendulum Speaks
Narjahanam - Hushood al-Nar
And since Symphonic Metal is all the rage with you kids, i'll post up a couple from my two favorite symphonic bands.
Therion - Adulruna Rediviva
Epica - Victims of Contingency
@yalda, have some more off the wall, cool stuff, just because.
~BR
I'm digging Almora, for certain. Here's a couple tracks from Karl Sanders. I use his music quite often during my DnD sessions, which often involve trips to the deserts to uncover ancient secrets and conspiracies. Atmospheric stuff, not metal, this time. Karl Sanders is rather fond of overly long song titles, as evidenced by "The Impalement and Crucifixion of the Last Remnants of the Pre-Human Serpent Volk".
Slavery Unto Nitokris
Contemplate This On The Tree Of Woe
Good music to listen to while drawing.
My playlist from this morning had some old stuff I used to listen to a lot, not sure if anyone would like, but sharing just for yucks.
~BR
You're the best, with no Karate Kid reference? No. Just... no. No.
I am grumpy, so have music.
~BR
Best for fantasy theme.

If someone prefers:
Both are awesome for me
This is my favorite fantasy theme:
Hah, if we go that way Valiea then:
(more popular)
(less popular yet still awesome)
And, for generic music for CD:

I've never heard the Warcraft one before. My family didn't get a computer until early 2000, and Neverwinter Nights was the first game we got (at my insistence!).
And one that's a bit more like regular music:
Here is what i've been listening to the last couple days.
I posted this artist before, but I want to post this song.
Those of you familiar with Sigur Ros know they do some rather strange type of music, music which shouldn't really be mixed with traditional rap. But Emancipator does an exceptional job merging Mobb Deep's Shook Ones with Sigur Ros' Untitled 1, in Shook!
Hello, awesome people! Some nordic music for you, while i'm away. Hope to be able to return soon! <3
Hah, Wardruna, Classic!
My reply is:
I'll see your Wardruna and Faun, and raise you some Falkenbach.
We're complete now!

I'll change the mood a bit.
And, as always, I'm not sure which version I prefer:
And now for a song completely different from my last ones! This is the song that keeps me uplifted when playing through SO's campaigns.

This thread needs some Arch Enemy.
Mwahahahaha, growling Angela Gossow always on top!
My personal favourite:
On the other hand, check them out. They are flawless!
Because Erliza wants to open a Tea House
Hah, Breaking Benjamin, been a while.

Summertime!
This guy's videos are great!
He also did one for Chrono Trigger:
Yeah, Guitar Guy (as my kiddo calls him) is amazing. And he has such fun with it too!
Here's what's been playing in our house... because she likes to sing along...
Her favorite part? Singing "in the dark dark"....
My kids are into Fall Out Boy too right now... Their favorite is Centuries. My 6 yr old and 3 yr old will sing.. my littlest guy will bounce in his seat and my eldest.. well preteen so she doesn't do any of that cause its embarrassing, but she likes the songs. My 6 year old was singing "Thanks for the memories" to my wife as she was trying to rest in the car and he was seated right behind her.

Time for a little flashback to '93.
Really enjoying this band.
I kind of expected it will be a cover Val, but no..

One of my favorite musicians, Emancipator, did an AMA yesterday and released a new album today! Here's one of the songs, titled Ocelot after his pet ocelots. Really cool music video. If you're arachnodphobic, around the middle, it does show a spider in the same way it shows other animals throughout.
I just keep finding more Morcheeba and loving them more and more.
Personal favorite of mine. Prince did great job with it.. but GC and Parliament/Funkadelic just has the right groove.
Probably not the best music to grade by. It could mean someone is going to have a bad time...
I just grabbed Undertale. I'm looking forward to playing it!
The recent song I've been playing on loop:
I just grabbed Undertale. I'm looking forward to playing it!
HIGHLY recommended =)
I just grabbed Undertale. I'm looking forward to playing it!
The recent song I've been playing on loop:
Damn.. been forever since I heard that song and much longer since I had seen the video.... Holy cow that hair...
Right?

Since it's Halloween:
Above is a very shortened version.
Long version is here (music video) and it makes even less sense.
It's time to get in the holiday mindset!
Yeah not even starting to get tired of this game's music.
"do you wanna have a bad time?"
For all those of you who loved the music of 8- and 16-bit RPGs, here you are, try to feel the highly possible uncredited inspiration in this man's opus
Trying to get out of our sickly funk by doing some dancing with the kiddos
Time for some STP.
RIP Scott Weiland
Vincent, that's one of my favorites.

RIP Scott ...
Seems to be a day for dealing with death... I was watching Fast 7 again.. this one gets me in the feels every time.
A typical interaction in the private aviation industry...
Just finished Tales of Zestiria last week and still can't stop listening to this.
Ba-dump
I'm sorry this one is even beeeeetter!
It is. I've found it few days ago, looking for Disturbed - Prayer on youtube. Wow.
This thread needs more Ghost. If you have Ghost, you have everything, you know.
We all need a good Birthday Massacre. This is my favorite song of theirs.
A little occult, a little psychedelic, stirred well.
This might be the coolest intro to a music video ever.
This topic needs more Dropkick Murphys
You know what we need?
BEARS!
There's so much metal in this thread I love it.
Scorpion got this stuck in my damn head...
"The metal version" made me think of this. Cole Rolland is friken awesome by the way. Check him out! Also......!!!
This guy is better!!!
Ok, found this too. Wow. I don't even know that song, but man does he make it sound and feel so good! =D
Blessthefall is pretty good!
And now for something completely different. (NSFW)
Pandora Journey: you keep me inspired with all your epic compilations when I otherwise rather not think much.
All Audiomachne, and emotional stuff.
All the feels.
Remember Barbara
(From Q&A)
...This was so awesome when I heard this tonight.
Sincerely,
Arya
Welcome to the Hotel Neverwinter 8)
A few samples of the sort of music Kelendel and Megan performed at the closing ceremonies tonight. =D
Fun song and even more fun AMV for it.
Brazilian prog metal. This is off of one of Angra's more experimental albums.
I live in Washington. I'm allowed to listen to hipster shit.
(but for real, you'll all dig it. It's well-composed and very poetic!)
Needed something to get me moving this morning
She - Atomic
Hopped in the Wayback Machine for some Old School get me moving motivation
Anthrax and Public Enemy - Bring the Noize
And two final ones.... really surprised these guys didn't make it bigger. Loved their sound.
Living Colour - Cult of Personnality
Kottonmouth Kings - Move
This thread needs some Sabaton!
Just been listening to tons of Lindsey Stirling and Pentatonix myself lately.
Stormy is to blame for this
I found this last night..... it made my life complete.
Been into this listening to this dude lately... he makes metal covers of other popular songs. He plays all the instruments and does the vocals. Very talented dude.
\nn/ (-.-) \nn/
This guy is a genious Oni!

Thanks!
This guy is a genious Oni!

Thanks!
Glad you liked.. I gotta agree.. dude kills !
Been in an 80s/90s groove of late.
Christopher Cross...
Not to be confussed with Kris Kross
For Gwen's lazy days and when I am thinking up some more stories for her to tell!
Sometimes combat just needs a proper background.
This girl did a track or two for some video games with themes in Central Asian areas. She also performed with Lisa Gerrard from Dead Can Dance at least once. Her voice is beautiful.
Just met Liane V at a work event today, snagged a selfie with her, and I've been listening to her stuff since...
And, of course, the immortal Brillig!
One intensely beautiful three minute stretch of your life, right here.

Really the entire Gore album is fantastic.
Well, there's the soundtrack to the entire remaining Dance of Pales storyline.
New AFI album is out so I'm on a binge til I learn all the words because LOVE.
I find this to be strangely addicting.... of course, it helps if you're familiar with
KonoSuba. Megumin is a one-trick pony. She basically can cast an epic fire spell once a day, and that's it. After that she passes out. Some mage
YESSSSSSSSSSSS. This game's soundtrack does NOT get enough love.
One of the best tributes I've seen yet.
So I just got back from Rock on the Range. The festival Chris Cornell was suppose to go if he didn't kill himself. (In fact he died the day before he was suppose to perform).
I suddenly discovered an absolute love for The Pretty Reckless... mostly because this moment actually made me cry.
Today is a Fleetwood Mac day. Yes.
This album, on repeat, for two weeks straight. Tasty fucking black metal.
Sadding this up with one of my favorite bands. RIP Agalloch.
Can pretty much add the entirety of Hybrid Theory and Meteora to this. RIP Chester.
I knew what it was going to be as soon as I saw the picture, and I approve.
You need at least one of these thrown in there.
I'm rediscovering how much I love Guilty Gear's music. This is what happens when a musician makes a fighting game.
Also,
Edge, you might just love FF6 as much as I do. Have you seen anything Overclocked Remix did? Jake Kaufman (of Shovel Knight fame) did his rendition of the opera scene, and... Bohemian Rhapsody. He made an FF6 Bohemian Rhapsody.
I don't know what year it is, but apparently Ice Cube is still putting out songs.
Video (and song) NSFW

I am very familiar with OCR, and with
Balance and Ruin in particular. I will say that this song is probably
the best OCR I've ever heard. Most of what shows up on OC is hit or miss for me, but this... this is perfection distilled, yes. Jake Kaufmann is indeed a genius.
Studying for an exam on Tuesday and have been using this as my background music for the last week.
If you like Black Sabbath and/or Motorhead, check these guys out:
Opps, not sure how to link the video window.
You can't do it from quick reply (well, theoretically you can, if you know the BBCode by heart); but from the full reply window just click on the movie button (looks like one of those black and white clapper things you see on movie documentaries) and put the link in the blank that pops up.
Thank you!!

Kingdom Hearts always has good music to play while on the game!
Especially one in particular entitled, "Rage Awakened"
Sadly horrible video, but great audio.
At home I primarily listen to this
But I've been really interested in Japanese Idol-metal type bands lately, like BiS:
I love this song. The band is sort of a two to three hit wonder:
Since Embra invoked Stevie Nicks (via Fleetwood Mac) last month, here's a favorite from 11 years ago. The video quality could be better, but that takes little away from its capture of an intense show closing performance, including some moments of tribute to her idol Janis Joplin, the band just on, and none other than the legendary Peter Frampton on guitar.
Another one before my time. Thanks to my parents for exposing me to so much good stuff!!!

You will be missed Dolores O'Riordan.
Possible future theme song for Nimfir and perhaps even for him now at times.
I love this one just for the title.
I always find my way to this part of forums first thing and it's been a year since the last post was made so I'm here to give it a touch of life again.
