Title: Practiced Spellcaster - Worth it?
Post by: lurkerabove on Dec 01, 2016, 11:31 AM
So I'm considering the Practiced Spellcaster feat for my druid/ranger. Though I initially thought it would add to overall progression, like a PrC, I've learned it adds to the caster level, but not the progression.

So... for a caster/ranged druid, is the extra 4 effective caster levels worth it? In your opinions?

I have found it useful on all casters that cross-class with a melee class.

CL is always a good call.

It's worth it depending on the number of ranger levels you have. If you just have one, then it's not as critical, but if you have four that's essentially four druid levels worth of DC and duration for one feat. Pretty spiffy.

Yeah I'd say if just one level of Ranger not worth it, two it's debatable, three yes worth it, four or mores oh Gods yes take it, take it now, no stop even debating it and take the damned feat.

Mirroring what everyone else says.  The more levels cross-class you have the more worth it the feat is.

Four, so yes, it would essentially wipe out the caster level penalty, even though she'll miss out on the top circle spells.

Thanks, will take it when it's time.
