Yeah but it has no damage bonus or anything, so its still not comparable to an actual weapon

Something to consider, and fixing it requires no changes to classes or the haks, is that unarmed monks lose out on an item slot when compared to all other classes. In order to get an ab bonus to their unarmed attacks a monk must use monk gloves, but using them comes at the cost of not equipping bracers that have other beneficial stats. Fixing this just means adding monk gloves to the loot table that have more beneficial stats on them. For instance rather than just being +2 ab and 1d6 damage, they would now be something like +2, 1d6, +2 dex (and/or whatever). This doesn't effect monks that use weapons because then the ab and the damage on the gloves aren't used.

tldr;
make monk gloves that are like current bracers with weapon bonus stats added to them. Additionally make all spells that currently enchant weapons, work on unarmed (If they don't already?)

Suggestions Archive / Remove OOC information
Jun 02, 2014, 05:40 AM
Without even touching the subject of metagaming, this is a purely mechanical argument.

Please, please do not remove the effect list on characters. It makes playing a buffing mage significantly more difficult in an artificial way. Without the effects displayed you have no way of knowing when effects expire and need to be re-buffed. This isn't OOC knowledge either (Other than the few spells that have visible effects). A mage character has an intimate understanding and ability to know when their spells are still in effect. They feel and know when spells are dispelled or expire.

At this time PRCs don't give you new spells for sorcs and bards. If all you want are caster levels though it should work

There is an NWNX plugin that handles helm hiding. It may only be for linux servers though.

General Discussion / Emote Challenge
May 16, 2014, 04:47 PM
When you read a novel, are you only given information about characters that can be gathered with the five senses? Having information of extra sensory nature in emotes is perfectly fine as long as it is understood that the characters aren't meant to react to it, and that it is more for the players benefit and enjoyment. I like to assume people are capable enough as players to be able to differentiate what there character could or could not know. Adding touches of of these things can help lend depth and flavor to a character and story that is not always possible otherwise.

The Red Mage Avatar
They aren't in NWN either. They are mind spells.

Death Ward blocks it, I just tested it, so at least on CD it is counted as Death Magic. It is also counted as a mind spell, so anything that gives immunity to that also stops it.

At the very least not having phantasmal killer and weird classified as death magic would help. In PnP they aren't.

One thing that would really help the illusion school, is changing what spells were part of the shadow conjuration and shadow evocation spells. The selection available with them right now is pretty(absolutely) worthless. Some of the spells aren't even conjuration spells and shouldn't be part of it. As I recall from looking at it a few years ago. It would just require some 2DA editing as the spell scripts for the spells shadow conjuration would emulate are already in place

Power Word Stun is also Divination and Mass Blindness/Deafness is illusion in NWN unless CD has modified that.

It's not illusion here, at least my DC isn't being modified by the spell focus illusion feat currently.
