I'd be inclined to play on Ishkhan, who's a barbarian. But I like throwing anachronistic characters into situations they wouldn't normally fit well into. Makes for interesting choices.

We don't really know each other, but I am glad you're seeing a therapist. Always something I've wanted to do, but due to finances and other factors, haven't been able to.

Hope you feel better!

I'd again like to thank anyone who's interacted with Ptolema in the past few weeks, particular to the players of Aunzanara & Servillah, but also so many others in smaller yet distinct ways.

Appreciate the fun! Hope for more.

Thank you Aun for the fireside chat and Stonetongue for the hunt and RP!

A small thanks to those that have been interacting with Ptolema these past couple'f weeks. It's been plenty enjoyable.

I am [somewhat] back from a long time away. Play(ed) Ife Ssanyu, the Chultan tailor.

Now playing a priestess named Ptolema. Already saw some familiar faces and looking forward to meeting new ones!

Some have noticed that I'm missing. It happens from time to time, for more reasons than one.

Bad timing, as I was starting to develop a new character. It's alright - I will try to be more active when I can.

Will be scarce for a time, if here at all (which is unlikely). Y'know how it goes.

That makes sense. Okay, I'll think of a team name!

How can we have team names when we haven't chosen the teams? Can we make a name after?

I can't call it Voss and the Vossettes, if I didn't draft Voss :(

(But that would still be funny)

From what I understood of the original post, it'll function like a Fantasy Draft where Owners choose between the combatants to form the teams? I may have misunderstood.

EDIT: Seems so! "Initial creation of the league will involve a draft period, where team owners will pick from a pool of players."

That's actually pretty neat :)

I think if you're already participating with one character, you shouldn't be able to participate with another? It seems to make the most sense in encouraging diversity of players.

WELL: To help out your cause, I can say that /if/ Ptolema is an adequate level by the time this happens, I will volunteer her in place of Ife as owner. Is that fair?

If non-epics can own a team, Ife can be a tentative owner? She's got enough to fund/sponsor a team.

I should say, there was no rolling! It was RPed. It's very clear Ife, as a normal civilian, was no match for amazon-Aesa... so at least to give it flavor, I believe we skipped rolling.

Otherwise yes, your logic is sound!

Sometimes it's just about trusting the people involved to play it out well.

Well, I do remember an instance long ago between Aesa and Ife, where the former was on the receiving end of some spilled wine - so she struck Ife. Now, Aesa's... very strong, very very strong - so if it was handled in engine against my level 5 self, I don't think it would've been too interesting!

It wasn't handled that way. Instead, though I forget the details, Ife had just enough energy to survive and kick Aesa right in the face, puncturing her cheek with a heel. This is before she gets knocked cold by a punch.

I thought it was well done, and one of the more memorable experiences I've had with conflict. I'm glad it wasn't handled in the engine, even though it came to "a battle".

Therefore, I will respectfully disagree! I don't think the conflict has failed.
