Lawful Neutral Human Cleric (4th Level)

Ability Scores:
Strength- 13
Dexterity- 12
Constitution- 12
Intelligence- 16
Wisdom- 14
Charisma- 12

Alignment:
Lawful Neutral- A lawful neutral character acts as law, tradition, or a personal code directs him. Order and organization are paramount to him. He may believe in personal order and live by a code or standard, or he may believe in order for all and favor a strong, organized government. Lawful neutral is the best alignment you can be because it means you are reliable and honorable without being a zealot. However, lawful neutral can be a dangerous alignment when it seeks to eliminate all freedom, choice, and diversity in society.

Race:
Humans are the most adaptable of the common races. Short generations and a penchant for migration and conquest have made them physically diverse as well. Humans are often unorthodox in their dress, sporting unusual hairstyles, fanciful clothes, tattoos, and the like.

Class:
Clerics- Clerics act as intermediaries between the earthly and the divine (or infernal) worlds. A good cleric helps those in need, while an evil cleric seeks to spread his patron's vision of evil across the world. All clerics can heal wounds and bring people back from the brink of death, and powerful clerics can even raise the dead. Likewise, all clerics have authority over undead creatures, and they can turn away or even destroy these creatures. Clerics are trained in the use of simple weapons, and can use all forms of armor and shields without penalty, since armor does not interfere with the casting of divine spells. In addition to his normal complement of spells, every cleric chooses to focus on two of his deity's domains. These domains grants the cleric special powers, and give him access to spells that he might otherwise never learn. A cleric's Wisdom score should be high, since this determines the maximum spell level that he can cast.

Suggestions Archive / Ranger fighting styles?
Jan 29, 2014, 10:08 AM
Since this server does like to try and bring things more in line with 3.5 (with a dash of pathfinder here or there I noticed) what about giving rangers more options for fighting styles?  It never really made sense to me that all the woodsmen, huntresses and survivalists in faerun were swinging a pair of scimitars Drizzt style :P  So what about instead of only giving dual wielding we had the option to also go an archery, or two handed/sword and shield route?  Instead of TWF at 1 and ITWF at 9 what about being able to pick Point blank shot and Rapid shot, or Power attack and Improved power attack?  I'm not thinking of going crazy with the options but it'd be nice to have some diversity without having to completely ignore two free feats and just equipping a sword and shield because that's what the character would most likely use RP wise.

Thanks guys, yeah I was planning on going pure ranger which is a bit of a change for me (I've got a ranger based assassin with FE Human and Elf since those make the most sense for him).  RP wise for favored enemies I'd kinda gotten to the "mad-libs" point of coming up with his background.  I had the general skeleton sketched out and just had to fill in a few blanks to flesh him out, hence the uncertainty of what choice to make.  Of course now this talk about ranger abilities has me thinking of something to post in the suggestion board...

Goblinoid is very good. You can use it to fight goblins at low levels and then gnolls at high levels.
Giants a few of the higher level dungeons have a lot of giants.
Undead as there are a lot of undead dungeons at lower levels.
These 3 I would take personally.

Orc would only be good at the middle levels though it could be a good option.
Dragons are only good at higher levels.
I thought gnolls were their own choice?  Glad to hear undead and Giants are good choices, both were ideas brewing in my head for the source of his favored enemy RP wise...

Edit: No, you're right...I'd forgotten that gnolls were goblinoids in nwn...even better!

General Discussion / Ranger Favored Enemies

Hey all, I'm brewing up a ranger concept in my mind, but had a question from those of you who have a better understanding of whats out there on the server.  Considering that Favored enemy really is the core of the ranger class, I don't want to be making choices that will end up being useless in the long run.  So what do you guys think are the best choices for favored enemies?  I just want to be able to get use out of the choices I make rather than pick something and find out I never use it, or that it quickly becomes obsolete.

Well Rhean was part of the initial talks with Iris so, I'm of course in...I don't have the time to take on the responsibility of getting the whole thing off the ground but I've got some ideas for the group I'd be willing to share
