I'm assuming that by Dark Elves you mean Ssri'Tel'Quessir, subrace of elves which became drow during the Dark Disaster.

In CD timeline, drow aren't reverting to the Dark Elf state, since those events were described in the Blackstaff (restoration of Miyeritar) and Ascendancy of the Last novels. Drow are drow and that's it. Someone might refer to them as Dark Elves, but they are still drow we all know. CD doesn't recognise these due to the following:
* Novels aren't considered canon,
* These events are post 1372DR.

There can be some speculations made as to what these Dark Elves would be like, but since they're irrelevant to CD's timeline, it would be better to take them elsewhere :D

General Discussion / Bladesinger Question
Dec 04, 2023, 08:21 AM
I play one of the bladesingers on the server, Ary'Keryn Elerdel. Note that the below is only my perspective (I'm just a player, not staff), and other bladesinger players may or may not share my view. Also, my bladesinger is a very old character, and things were a bit different back then.

  • From what I've seen in the past few years, people tend to take their bladesinger levels when they're around 20th lvl. This is due to the relatively fast pace of levelling and time needed for bladesinger training. My personal take on this is that the training should take at least several RL months. I think this is a good compromise between what's feasible considering player's enjoyment and in-setting credibility, since elves aren't very hasty, especially with such things. To my knowledge there's no level cap which allows you to start training, but handling bladesinger training takes time: Ary takes potential trainees on missions, validates their skills and attitude, and only after that makes the decision to train someone or not. Then there's the training itself, and you have a 20th lvl character that's usually some form of Ftr/Wiz/EK that needs relevel into BS once all the training is done.
  • Side note: in the past some of the bladesinger requests were additionally prolonged, because the bladesinger-wannabes were somewhat controversial characters (such as Moon Elf with a drow parent), and required additional DM event. There was also the case of one such failed quest.
  • For a chat thing, we have the Elves of Semberdale discord server that's not very active, but it can be used for communication between bladesingers. Feel free to join, the link is in the Elves of Semberdale subforum (though I may need to refresh it). In general, I feel the elf faction hasn't been overly active recently, as there were practically no reports in the last Aelou. I'm guessing this is just silence before the storm ;)

Other bladesinger characters I know are Eina Laurina Taure and Faewynn, but I haven't seen them much lately (not that I'm super active myself).

Pretty much all towns/cities are canon, except Berrbriar (the hin village) and Swordhaven. Also, I can't find Eagle's Peak on FR Wiki, so I'm unsure of its status. Some places are different from their canon counterparts: Velethuil has more inhabitants than described in FRCS, Yulash is being rebuilt and independently governed, Thunderholme has been reclaimed. Post-1372 DR changes are described here: forums.cormyrdalelands.com/index.php?topic=7326

Hey everyone, I'm going on vacation to Iceland for two weeks, my scheduled return is on Sep 7th. I'm going to have no access to my computer, although I might occasionally pop up in game from my mobile device. In such cases, please bear with me, as it might take longer to reply or my characters might make strange movements due to misclicks. I'll be reachable via Discord if anyone needs anything, I'll also be posting pictures of weird food (yay fermented shark doo doo doo) and nice views.

I've been having blast playing at CD in these past few months. That wouldn't have been possible if not for our awesome DMs!

– for the amazing Ssrenshen liberation thread. I've never let any plot line mess with my sleep schedule so much and I regret nothing. These were one of those events that I will remember for years. I loved the scene set up during assault on Ssrenshen's walls. The whole thing felt like playing Faerun: Total War.

deserves a round of applause for the initial (at least for me) euro-friendly event in the KKS plot line I had the opportunity to participate in. It was funny (yay wild magic effects), it was sad (the sacrifice at the end) – and all in all fun to be part of.

for the still ongoing plot with a certain artefact my archmage Runaiwëm loved. This has been a great opportunity to dust him off and let him have something to be excited about again. Big kudos for the silver wyrmling events too!

All DMs who assisted in the events mentioned above deserve applause but I can't name them all, sorry!

And of course big thanks to all other DMs helping with rebuilds, relevels and last but not least to the Admin team for their hard work!

1. Days I'm available:

Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. I'm occupied on Mondays and Thursdays but only between November and March (it's iceskating time, yay!)

2.  My schedules:

I'm GMT+1 (normal time) / GMT+2 (daylight saving time) -- so CST+7/CST+8
Week: after 5pm GMT+1/10am CST until around 11pm GMT+1 (4PM CST)
Weekend: practically anytime. I'm able to wake up stupidly early to participate in an event!

3. My characters:

Ary'Keryn: bladesinger, defender of elves but he extends his vocation onto other good-willed races, so he'll happily help in Cormyr too. Anything elfy, helping others, teaching and spreading elven culture.

Runaiwem: Archwizard, alchemist, scientist, drummer, archer, polymath: again any elfy stuff, Netheril, ancient civilizations, arcane research, enjoys gnomes' acheivements in technology; he's also involved with the Eilistraeens.

Off Topic / Pathfinder: Kingmaker

Has anyone played it yet? I've just bought the game and will probably start it tomorrow.

For those who don't know: it's a cRPG supposedly inspired by classics such as Baldur's Gate using Pathfinder system. Chris Avellone has been involved, so I hope for a good game.

I'm on the second island, before the kahuna challenge. The game's fun. Also thought that Type:Null was some sort of a bug when I saw it for the first time, as I've stayed out of most game-related websites or threads.

Also my friend code: 4399-1229-3934

Runai turning Umbra into a chicken. That's his greatest achievement in the field of magic. *nod*

The link in my previous post corrected :)

I've been using NWNCX for some time now. It's an additional executable file and when you run NWN through it, it restores the Server List, so you skip waiting time too. You need to run it as an administrator though and your Antivir might not like it.

To my knowledge there are currently no plots ongoing in Velethuil/Bristar – last thing I can think of were some political struggles as to whether to accept non-elves in one part of the town. What hasn't been mentioned yet is that we've had some RP in the past regarding the end of the elven Retreat, so that might give reason for various characters to arrive in Cormanthor.

In the elf RP we mentioned Kymil Nimesin's invasion on several occasions, so I think you can safely assume it happened. Same with the Phaerimm invasion in Evereska. Oh and by the way I have a bladesinger character too, the NWN log in is Maciektg.

According to this we're in 1378. It's just that most stuff after 1372 from the canon has not occured.

CD disregards most official Canon post 1372, when we launched. Though it did not take place on the server, we do acknowledge that Lolth's Silence happened off-camera.
The Crusade has not happened at CD and Myth Drannor is not part of the mod. The elven community is located in Deepingdale, primarily in Velethuil/Bristar.

Also welcome to the server, always good to see more elf players, although I'm not sure how often we can meet each other in game as I'm in euro timezone.
