Suggestions & Ideas / Re: Evil dungeons
Last post by Tarostar - May 03, 2026, 10:39 AM
This is a pve server, not a pvp server.

Let me underline that. Player character purple dragons who guard most settlements aside from Arabel, no matter their rank, are specifically told not to police other pc's under any circumstance.

And that makes raiding temples a bad idea as no pc can do much with it. Things to investigate are always initiated/overseen by DM's on CD.

Suggestions & Ideas / Evil dungeons
Last post by Elona Helshar - Apr 30, 2026, 05:58 PM
I've been thinking for a while about the server. At a certain point, level 14, the pve loop stops making sense. Due to the roleplaying xp sources drying up it becomes an exercise of patience and the luck of finding some player invented conflict to sink your teeth into and roleplay out.

Afterall, conflict is the root of any story. And i'm a little bit confused that Cormyr and the Dalelands seems to have both been built to be without serious conflict between players, while having a suite of amazing tools to facilitate it. Scrying, Non Detection, Misdirection, Alignment detection, Alter self. The clues are all there that there was the intent to have some level of conflict between light and dark.

Yet, the underdark is empty. Theres nothing for the paladins to punish. And the reason for this is that there is nothing 'evil' to do.

My suggestion is to create evil dungeons. No not more crypts with liches, let us raid the temples by going up through those locked doors into a 'dungeon' of its members, break in to the back of stores and try to over come noble manor's guards. I understand that this sort of thing takes a lot of work, but its also the sort of inspiring idea that can be exciting enough to grant the energy to do it. And once a high level player can raid the royal castle of Suzail and plunder its vaults. The players of good would finally have something to protect. Investigate.

Such a thing would have a profound effect, peoples deeds would start to matter in their personal lives. There would actually be outlaws. There would be ongoing colour, conflict that drives roleplay to be something beyond people waiting for xp to tick up in a square, hoping for anything to happen, for some entertainment.

And of course, that would still be there, people don't have to engage in defending these places from attack or punishing those that do. But if someone is looking for some in character purpose beyond level 14. Should be pretty fun, don't you think?

Art & Stories / One of Many Journeys
Last post by Schroedingers Cat - Apr 27, 2026, 05:05 PM
It started with a small AI image experiment:
Could an RPG character remain visually consistent
across different scenes, settings, and art styles?
Then the images started suggesting a story.

One of Many Journeys is what became of it.

Full story here:
https://schroedingers-kater.org/the-journey

Posted here as an art/story experiment. This is not a campaign log, player journal, or DM event, and should not be taken as IG truth.

I'd be happy to hear whatever reaction you had, in whatever form you prefer.
Read it to the end? Stopped after a few scrolls?
Found it funny, stupid, stale, cool, or simply too much or too little?
( If so inclined: kindly reply here, send a forum PM, poke me on Discord – whatever works. )

If your using steam, did you put the new portrait files here;  Steam\steamapps\common\Neverwinter Nights\data\prt

And did you turn it into an appropriate portrait format (.tga)? There should be 5 files for the 5 sizes used, Huge, Large, Medium, Small and Tiny. If not, you can turn an image into a portrait using the link below.

Hello, I tried changing my portrait using the command in the forum etc. I tried a couple different options, however it only shows the blank portrait now. Is there a way to fix this?

Sorry if there is already a post about this, I did look around and couldnt see a fix.

Thanks :D

── ⋆⋅𖤓 DM Mibs 𖤓⋅⋆ ──

𖤓 Timezone: Central European [ CET / CEST ]

𖤓 Availability: During week days 18:00 - 0:00 my local time, weekends whenever it is not 1:00 - 10:00

𖤓 Preferred Number of Players: 4-5 players.

𖤓 Preferred Length of Quest:
── ⋆ Any! One-shots are least stressful so I love those, but longer quest-lines let me make more complex stories.

𖤓 Thematic Styles:
── ⋆ RP focused, big emphasis on creating the right 'vibe'. Not good at balancing combats, but I try to make them thematic as well. When I learn how to properly balance and make abilities, I'll abuse it greatly.

𖤓 Specialties:
── ⋆ Feel good and/or cute slice of life
── ⋆ Small personalized quests/events
── ⋆ Humorous punny stuff
── ⋆ Horror themes
── ⋆ Fey Shenanigans
── ⋆ Drow / Underdark
── ⋆ Low-magic / low-level problems
── ⋆ Planewalking

𖤓 Wishes to avoid:
── ⋆ OOC Arguments during events
── ⋆ Needless sexual commentary (including from players to other player during events)

𖤓 Miscellaneous Notes:
── ⋆ Feel free to contact me if you want a personal event or questline, although I can't promise it'll be done fast as RL can swallow a lot of my time. Please remind me though if you feel it's been too long!
── ⋆ I enjoy a wide range of themes from high-level epic adventures to the small everyday stuff. My hyper-fixations allow me to quickly learn a ton about a subject /if/ I get hooked on it.
── ⋆ Feel free to link me your characters biography when signing up for a questline so I can more easily incorporate it. Can't promise to do so every time, but if it fits the theme I'll try my best to do so.
