General Discussion / Re: A newbie's feedback!
Last post by Glaucozilla - Mar 16, 2026, 10:06 AM
I kinda agree on this. Expecially on EU hours most people are online in the square, get their xp and hop off. I recently hit 20 on Chiara so i'll add this feedback on top.

after you reach lvl 15 it gets pretty still. Unil 15 there's less' waiting' but you still work for something as you rp and get your story growing.

At level 13 you can start getting a few items you can equip 'soon'

but the 'search' for items is almost dreadful.

Between pruple and orange items there's what -3 months- of time total? if not more.

That means that adventuring for better gear is something absolutely not going to happen and is aboslutely not incentivised.

I managed to get my full set of eldritch gear at the start of level 19 (except one item)

Up to level 16 leveling is nice, you're hyped because you can do more and more, see new places, join higher level people. But after that? that feeling slowly dies, you do the same dungeon every day, IF you go out for a dungeon, that is.

Maybe gearing can get some tweaks, like allowing a certain amount of higher tier level equipped between the full step.

I know this is an event based server, where most of the focus is on that kind of play, but besides the halloween event that was open for everyone i couldn't join any other event since if they're up, they're always with closed rosters and it's hard to get in them for a 'new' player.

Sure, the 'stacking' of doubl rpxp limit was a blessing, i don't feel like i -have- to log in every day or miss on my progression, but still, the idling rpxp drags on a 'waiting' system with idle and dull rp because most people just sit in the square and chitchat because they -need- to do it.

There's no goals to reach, nothing to work for, you just log, get your xp and that's it.

General Discussion / A newbie's feedback!
Last post by Jaenas - Mar 16, 2026, 09:46 AM
Hi everyone!
First of all, thank you all for being such lovely people. I've only had extremely pleasant interactions with people IC and OOC when needing help, having questions, or being unsure about things. I appreciate that A LOT. That alone is enough that I keep logging back in, day after day, spending hours upon hours. I've really enjoyed my time here.

I say that just to underline that this feedback doesn't mean I don't like the server and the people here.e

I don't really get the rp xp system.
I understand why the DM team and server as a whole don't want people to hit level 30 in their first week. That removes a lot of the 'growth' of a character, and I completely agree with the idea.
I just think it's way too slow, and it removes a massive amount of incentive from going out on adventure, especially in combination with the Pawn shop.
You don't really have to grind for mid level (12-20?) gear, and doing dungeons doesn't do anything to progress you, xp wise, since you're capped almost immediately after level ups. At level 15, it took one dungeons to be capped, and the 300 xp a day means 17 days to level to 16.
I don't personally think that's a good balance. Any system that incentivizes logging in to just sit around for a couple of hours to get the xp cap, and nothing more, doesn't seem to me like a healthy system.
Now, if a level appropriate dungeons boss would also give a meager 100 rp xp upon kill, would that speed things up immensely? Not really. Three dungeons a day, and you've only doubled the speed, but also incentivized people to go out and explore and do dungeons together. If a system like that was implemented, I know -I- would spend a lot more time on dungeons.

Just my two cents! I hope none of you take this the wrong way, I love the server! I'd just like to love it -more- :3

With love,
- Jaenas (Sarah Blake)

That's so nice to hear. Other players did similarly for me when I was new and afraid on CD. I try to pay it forward, as well. <3 Welcome to the server.

Suggestions & Ideas / Re: Dragon breath DCs
Last post by Andrea8789 - Mar 05, 2026, 12:02 AM
I want to address this with some maths.
We will be making the following assumptions:

  • The characters are level 16.
  • The characters have maxed out their magical bonus to any attribute that governs their DCs.
  • The DD character is 10th level DD.
  • The caster character is a level 16 full caster with no PRC.
  • The characters have no racial bonuses to any of their attributes.
  • This is pre-epic levels (Levels 1 to 20)

A DD does not put points into CHA while leveling.  Generally speaking, a DD character will put points into STR as they are a melee martial character who wanted that dragon spice in their life.  This means that the worst case is that a 10th DD will have 8 CHA score / -1 CHA mod and be able to get that up to +5.  At best, a 10th DD will probably have about 18 CHA score / +4 CHA mod and be able to get it up to a +10 modifier.  This means that the DCs can range anywhere from 25 to 30.

A full caster will have a score of 22 in their governing attribute (Charisma, Wisdom, or Intelligence) by 16th (Assuming they only have one caster attribute to worry about).  This comes out to a +6 modifier.  With their whole magical bonus, this puts them to a score of 34, or a +12 modifier.  The DCs for their spells are calculated with a base 10 + spell innate level + Caster Attribute Modifier.

With this, all spell DCs at 16th caster level are as follows (From Innate level 0 to 9th; ignoring feats and other special bonuses): DC 22 at 0 (Cantrips), DC 23 at 1st, DC 24 at 2nd, DC 25 at 3rd, DC 26 at 4th, DC 27 at 5th, DC 28 at 6th, DC 29 at 7th, DC 30 at 8th, and DC 31 at 9th.

By comparison, the breath ranges anywhere from a 3rd level DC spell to an 8th level DC spell on a full caster with none of the advantages. The breath has a terrible save type (Reflex) which means it can be further negated by evasion.  Most of the damage types that are available are pretty well resisted generally speaking (Cold, Fire, Electricity).  The average damage (8d10) of 44 means that energy buffer will more often than not just negate most of the damage anyways disregarding evasion.  Also this feat doesn't discern friend from foe making it difficult to actually use in melee with your other melee friends there.

Personally, my quick and dirty fixes would be allow a choice of scaling type at breath weapon unlock; give both a breath weapon that scales with CHA and a breath weapon that scales with CON.  Make it so at max level DD, the breath no longer hits friendlies, or even just make that an optional bonus epic feat for DD.

My lengthy, probably balance-breaking idea is to buff the breath weapon then give it limited charges that don't come back until after a rest.  The DC would be the same calculation and have an option to choose between CON or CHA scaling upon acquiring the breath weapon in DD, but now the damage would scale similarly to how spells scale on casters up to some maximum bonus damage at 10th DD where it also no longer harms allies.  This would make the breath a menacing threat but also a limited resource the player has to manage.

Hello, everyone!

I've been playing on the server for a couple of weeks now, and feel like I've got a good enough grip of all the server specific stuff, and the general world and maps, to properly get into it with you all!

I look forward to experiencing all your characters, stories, and plotlines!

1. the magic mouth's interact radius is a bit large and they can sometimes engage in conversation windows with people not using them. The wandering npcs should avoid trampling all over the stage maybe?  a few dialogue typos

2. it's out of arabel and worth going it's far but not so far enough you have to work to get there it brings even some idling out of the square which is both good or bad depending on how activity in your own group goes but I could very much hit the Lucky to celebrate a dungeon run

3. the wandering cats and the custom music pianist

4. properly installing audio files, spawn point, and more active players to rp with. I try to find spots where I'm most likely to pick up on a conversation I can get involved in typically this means the square but as we've all had in times it can quickly become whisperville there making your life awfully silent. A few custom consumable could be fun, a potion that turns you into a house cat would keep me rolling on the floor for days, name the drink the Paws and Refelct, or Whisker Whiskey

1. What do I definitely need to change or fix?

Probably to separate the sauna from the room so it can be open for more people to use. And add more drinks

2. What do you like best?

The Spa and the smoking room which my own terms, Snoop Room

3. Which NPC is your favorite and why?

All of the cats and Miravel

4. What will get you to spend more time here?

Probably events within the place or maybe a discount on certain stuff and roleplay of course

It recently came to our attention that there was a past instance of a former player who had violated rule 2, but quit before being banned, and thus wasn't officially marked as banned.

This is to clarify that KaObserver is indeed banned from the server for breaking Rule #2. Please let us know if anyone has further questions regarding this. Thanks.
