Hello :D

I was suggested to put this here, so here it is.

The RP context :

So far, with a bunch of friends unable to really find legit reasons to play IC together, we made a kinda unofficial ghost faction, active in Miss Reagan's place. This fictive faction is basically a shady man (maybe ?) acting like a fixer in Cyberpunk, staying hidden in the shadows and communicating through Miss Reagan or others fictives NPCs. (I guess our point was to NOT mess up with any official canon lore we weren't aware about.)

The man was finding customers, giving missions to players like bounty hunt, informations collecting etc etc. Mostly giving IC purposes to go dungeoning while RP wise we don't play the casual adventurer.

Anyway, at some point, for story and character growth purpose, one of the mission led Náre to get a bounty on her head and goes from friend to ennemy with the fictive faction. (I can provide details aside as it happened IG.)

Now, Náre, still looking for money for her own personal goals, is thinking "Why couldn't i do that to ? Get rid of the intermediate and make much more money for less work.". I started to have some RP about this with her few comrades in misfortune.

The faction idea :

To summarize, the idea is to make something similar ; collect jobs from more or less shady customers, give thoses to faction members and create some RP around it. The faction isn't really outstanding evil, rather pretty... Open minded. The point is not to have a shady something full of chaotic evil characters.

There would be several different tones of mission ranging from clearly evil to more neutral things like helping the desperate farmer girl who saw her family slaughtered by some powerfull cleric, unable to get revenge officially, selling her farm and all her family belonging to pay someone to murder him.

Considering the actual mechanics in game, and with the will to keep it open to all range of players, i think a good amount of missions would actually be more like RP layers offering something to play on for the interested players.
There is probably a lot to do as well with missions focusing on investigations, standing watch of some place for a night, protecting a convoy and such.

I rarely saw PvP ending well, or staying drama free, i would rather evade it at any cost, unless it have been kinda pre-planned and the end is satisfying for everyone :D But keeping the faction sounding kinda neutral, with an official face, also make senses mostly for survival reasons.

Bullet points brainstorming / ideas (because everything is better as a list :D) :

- Keeping it open for as much interested players as possible, without restrictions. The restrictions are bring by the kind of tasks the players chose to take, or are granted. There would be something like "trust circles". As characters take a more important role inside of the faction, and win more "high ranked"'s one trust, they will have access to tasks requiring more discretion/being more shady.

- Giving players responsabilities and roles bringing RP and game. I'm still thinking this, but being tasked with keeping an eye on different cities for example could make some part of the map a bit more lively. And some basic things like watching the people around to seek potential new recruits.

- Micro-GMing missions and small players centered storylines on the main map. By micro-GMing i mean mostly describing and making up things with the layers already there, without really needing anything technical. Obviously something would be better with the help of a GM :D Like for ambush and such, but this would be something else. I have a shifter i try to build aside i think i could use as some generic NPC.
But theses small "events" would be related to the daily live of the RP, keeping things "simple". There wouldn't be any dragons, or anything that could collide with the lore of the server.

This is the general idea so far.

I don't really request anything right now, neither do i think it should be official too fast, even the faction name would be better defined in game as the RP goes.

I'm still not even sure where the faction would be located :D Some mentionned Yulash to make the city more lively, but i heard from others that there was already some faction here :D

Maybe eventually later, if the faction works and players are actives :D

Been a while since I made one of these posts, and there's a lot of people that deserves praise. I am however gonna stick to the most recent RP that I've enjoyed immensely.

Shout out to nausea.nymph (Virelai) - Every scene has been so much fun, and I love the conflict RP we got cooking. Looking to more!

Same can be said for Pink_ (Adamante). Great scenes! And a good sport <3 Adamante is a fun character.

I would like to give a shout out to Edge for their ongoing Underdark event - It's been great so far and I am really enjoying the story. I appreciate it greatly, not only for the fun events, but also for being an awesome and friendly DM in general :)

And thank you for running stuff in the Underdark! We needed it!

- (Silverstar) Full class rework. Existing silverstar characters need a relevel/rebuild. Information on the reworked class and roleplay tips are available on the Wiki (Thanks to IronTyrant for the class's design and updated description)
- (Warlock & AK) Fixed an issue with custom DR feats not stacking correctly
- Improvements to the mimic tier calculator script
- (Word of Recall) Now creates an NUI button that can be used to trigger the recall
- (Wildshape) Fixed on-hit properties on bracers merging onto polymorphed creature's skin
- (Demonic Servitor) Fixed the DC bonus to conjuration not applying to AoE cloud spells
- (Anointed Knight) Fixed anoint weapon causing double procs of Acid Sheath
- (Sequencer) Fixed being able to spawn two shadow doubles using Sequencer
- (Shadowdancer - Summon Shadow) The epic version now gets +5 Dodge AC and +4 Shield AC, as an easy fix to them not being able to use Shadow Evade or getting AC from the Shield spell
- (Sorcerer & Bard) Minor backend improvements to the spellstone PRC system
- (Arcane Warrior - Channel Spell) Added Grease, Ice Dagger, Glitterdust, Flame Arrow, Gust of Wind, Calis's Paralytic Bolt, Shadow Hand, and Sunburst to the valid spells for Channel Spell

Player Announcements / Heads Up on Future House Raven...

Hi everyone, got a quick announcement to make!

I had to think about this a lot after receiving a few requests to make a Ravenshadow character, and let it sit a while and talk with the staff.

However, after the outcome of ATAE, and considering the rough logistics of House Ravenshadow to start, I am (and really, we are) no longer going to allow anyone to make applications for the family being already born to them. I am fine with the idea of a lost relative who needs recognized by plotlines and NPCs as a sort of quest reward to become part of the clan, and I am fine with the idea of earning from the NPCs a sort of adoption and consolidation into the line. Those I feel are the only ones I can in good conscience promote as ways to have a clan member now.

There had been someone who wanted to find a way to have Daeatria's fraternal sun elf twin sister still alive, and I may allow them to do that if they take interest again, but that is about it. I also had the discussion with staff revolving around the fact there are only so many nobles of a single line who could become adventurers before it breaks immersion.

This feels for the best, I think. Much love to you all!

- Favored Souls can now use the Belt of Spell Storing
- Consolidated all the lore DM NPC areas into one area and removed old DM NPC areas (with help from Lady)
- Removed the old Highmoon areas from the module
- Added the correct teleport key to Highmoon
- Aboleth T4 dungeon creature balance update (Alice)
- Lake of Shadows updated (Misty)
- Removed remaining adamantine breastplate armors from the loot
- Fixed a few T5 and T6 items being placed in the wrong loot table

- (Blinding Speed) Fixed an exploit
- (Werewolf) Updated the werewolf hybrid form to a higher quality model

- (Implosion) Improvement to Implosion damage calculation
- (Arcane Warrior) Channel Spell won't eat potions anymore
- (Warlock) Devour Magic now works more like the PnP version, providing 5 temporary hit point per successfully dispelled spell level for 2 minutes to the caster. This also means that the spell now can't dispel spells cast by the warlock.
- Added a dummy epic spell script to let people waste spell slots and show a DM they cast a spell, for unimplemented spells
- Added a new VFX accessory NUI system, accessible through /vfx and /customize. Note that players will have to manually add back accessories they had, as the old system has been fully removed. Thankfully, this new system will let us add new accessories much more easily! (Raysiel, with a lil' help from Pope)
- (Flame Barrage & Meteor Storm boss ability) Disabled a small part of the creature animation that was causing server crashes. The change is entirely cosmetic

- Shadow Dancer now correctly has the Bluff skill

I want to pass along my praise and my gratitude for every player and character that I've had the pleasure of interacting with as Vedras Belvinde, the Paladin whom I've retired, and as Tharuk Besk, the brusque half-orc Fighter.

It has been many years since I've last felt like I belonged to a roleplaying community. Thank you Cormyr and the Dalelands.
