After a long time away it seems (time is a slippery eel), I have returned to wander these realms once more. Be gentle I have not played NWN for a long time aside for drops in to say hello to those I recall from days past.

Admin Announcements / Re: Transparency - Player Bans
Last post by Nokteronoth - Apr 10, 2026, 08:53 AM
So, I was trying to think up a funny way to put this one, and really couldn't. This one's a repost of a once-removed announced ban.

A certain ex-DM of ours has been banned from the server for (now) a decent bit of time. They have requested to go unnamed, but I will simply post here that it is the counterpart to the word 'Harmony'. (They requested the original ban announcement be removed, because they're trying to start a business for the likeness of their character by the same name in yon meatspace. We removed it so I wouldn't hear any further bitching for a while, and didn't want to deal with the likely-to-come 'We'll sue you for libel' or something. Wouldn't discount it, not worth my time to deal with.)

Why were they banned, you might ask? Because we have a certain expectation of the server being a comfortable place to just exist. I don't think I need to write some long winded essay about the Paradox of Tolerance, smarter people than I have done it already and you can all use Google or whatever search bar is your preference these days. They proved rather irrevocably after they left that they were against many of the server's members merely existing. I'll quote here, from their own words, in reference to people who are 'woke': "It's a cancer that must be eradicated." "It's wrong, it's evil, it had to be purged." This came during the middle of a rant at one of our regulars that went on for quite a while about how the [now banned person] was forced to the bottom of a victimization totem pole and how everyone/everything has been out to get them because of various facets of their IRL identity.

Between the above and a pattern of behavior, the upper staff of the server have/had decided that they don't want to give this person a chance to be a part of the server anymore, and so we have removed them from the sandbox. While they did run some decent plots and stories, we don't feel comfortable having them around the server at this point or any point in the future. They were, once upon a time, a rather liked member of the community. It's sad that such had to end after they removed the mask.

For any further details, questions, comments, or concerns, you know the usual. Message us privately to all upper staff on the forums, or feel free to ask one of the admins in a PM on Discord or elsewhere.

Preferred Number of Players: 4-8 though exceptions can be made if arranged ahead of time.

Preferred Length of Quest: 3 hours or less though I will always leave a buffer in case it runs longer.

Wishes to Avoid:

-Crossing IC and OOC issues, starting an argument with other players during the quest is a quick way to get booted, keep that OOC or stay out.
-Any sort if metagaming including outing characters based on OOC knowledge not IC actions.
-I will avoid any theme that will require myself or anyone in the group to break rules, even asking it of me is a great way to get yourself banned from my quests.
-People who are inactive and clearly there only for DM items, if you don't make an effort, you don't get rewarded.

Suggestions & Ideas / Re: Epic Dragon Disciple
Last post by Fury - Mar 29, 2026, 12:29 AM
Dragon Disciple is such a good class that we are likely to consider a nerf before we consider a buff. The epic levels are somewhat underwhelming, yes, but if we were to buff them it would likely involve dispersing some of the class' current power budget into epics rather than suddenly making one of the best classes in the game even better.

Sorry, I know that's not what you want to hear, but no other class gives the sheer amount it gives for 10 levels.

Pelordaes7, 'Czu Tir'end' has been banned from the game for being an ass to basically everyone all day, trolling, ignoring IG laws and rules, and then calling the DM staff various names.

Quoteif they're up, they're always with closed rosters and it's hard to get in them for a 'new' player.
Aside from personal plotlines which are pretty rare in themselves, every closed roster listing started life as an open sign up. Keep an eye on new quest announcements.

What you said at the end was exactly the point I was trying to make!
It feels like there's no personal agency in the levelling process past 15-16.
You get capped on combat xp after a single dungeon, maybe two, and then you just have to wait xx number of days.
I'd -love- some sort of system that rewards actual activity, without majorly impacting the server or "forcing" people to participate in it.
That's what I meant with the, for example, 100 rp xp for clearing a level appropriate dungeon.
