Emma grew up in Waterdeep around the docks and alleys. She was taken in by the Addams family when she was young and grew up with her sisters. The sisters and Emma all learned to survive on the docks and through life growing up together. Dad dock worked and was a notoriously bad and risky gambler who eventually placed some bets with the wrong folks and the girls were all left to thrive and make it anyway they could. Their mom did the best she could with four girls to look after. Her mom ended up getting sick and with the girls being mostly grown was no longer able to look after them. Emma's primary motivation for adventuring stems from her insatiable curiosity and desire to explore the world beyond the confines of her upbringing in Waterdeep. She yearns to experience life outside the environment she grew up in and to make a tangible difference in the lives of others.

Lastly, Emma is motivated by a personal quest for self-discovery. She wants to understand her own strengths and weaknesses, to grow both as a warrior and as a person. Each adventure is an opportunity for her to learn more about herself and the world around her, and to forge her own path in life.

Emma's journey is one of growth and discovery, as she strives to balance her heritage with her desire to make a difference in the world. Her travels have only just begun, and she looks forward to the many adventures that lie ahead.
