I keep fresh flowers resting on your grave
so it feels like it was only yesterday
I still feel heat on your cold side of the bed
as if moments ago you just walked away

In the kitchen, I hear your footsteps
but when I'm there it was only in my head
Cleaning after dinner, I'm the one who ate
yet, I find myself, washing an extra plate

I'm not crazy. I'm clinging to sane,
processing grief and sifting through the pain
I know you're gone though you're still near
I'm surrounded by reminders saying your here

What I would give to look in those eyes
Have a another conversation, one more time
I'd wrap my arms around you, holding you tight
as if I'm not without you the rest of my life
