I wake each morning then I reach for you
 I know you're not there, not sure why I do
   A trick of the mind or, perhaps, the heart
      telling me that we're not so far apart

You rest, soundly sleeping and dream away
 while I dress and prepare to face the day
   I'm hoping the hours will quickly go
     till we speak once more, sharing what we know

You have become the highlight of my days,
 the best time spent, and the greatest escape
   The more that I learn... the deeper I fall,
      hoping that you are equally in awe.
