Name: Tlakatsintli Tenociichpoca
Race: Wood Elf Half-Fiend (Rakshasa)
Initial Alignment: Neutral Evil
Description:

Elven Form: Tall and powerfully built at a mighty height of 6'1", Tlakatsintli carries herself with the sturdiness and strength of wood elves as well as a natural elven grace that is inherently present in every step and movement. She has copper skin touched by Nexalan facial tattoos, emerald eyes, and long black hair. She is by all appearances a powerful warrior.

True Form: In this form, Tlakatsintli abandons much of her elven grace to take on a larger form much closer to her fiendish father, Tenoch. At an immense height of 6'6". Her hair loses its black sheen and becomes a golden orange. Her ears shift and become almost bat-like as they become covered and filled with fur as well. Her digits grow claws and her hands take on the appearance of her father, snapping into a reversed position with the palms on the outside. A golden striped tail forms behind her to aid in balance as her paw-like feet and claws become tigerlike. There is little left to the imagination as to her heritage if she ever dons this form, a titanic beast of a half-fiend.

Deity (Note: Characters without a patron are subject to permadeath in DM events): Zaltec (From the Maztican pantheon which is not in the game currently, Bane or Cyric as a placeholder)
Base Class & Proposed Development: Rogue, Fighter, Blackguard.

Background (500-1000 words): Deep in the heart of the Nexalan jungle is where Tlakatsintli's story begins. Her father, Tenoch, was a high priest of the god Zaltec who reveled in bloody sacrifice. Her mother was an elf that hailed from the nomadic tribes to the north, the lone survivor of a raiding party against her people who was brought before Tenoch and later inducted into his cult as one of his consorts. Yet when Tlakatsintli was born as she was, something monstrous and not entirely elven or human, it was then that her mother finally learned Tenoch's darkest secret.

You see, Tenoch was a Rakshasa. A shapechanging fiend that had long ago implanted himself in Nexalan society as a high priest, occasionally taking a new form and posing as one of his children inheriting the position of their deceased 'father'. He had learned incredibly swiftly that the society forged by the worship of Zaltec was the perfect cover for him, the sacrifice of intelligent beings enabled him to partake in his natural cruelty whenever he wished, his abilities and apparent zeal brought many loyal followers to his side and with them came great power, and his participation in the sacrifice of intelligent beings gave him choice access to the best meals he could ask for. Such was Tenoch's power, that he possessed an entire pyramid to house his family and devoted followers and a cohort of Jaguar Knights dedicated to the preservation and protection of the temple and the priest within. He wanted for nothing.

Had Tlakatsintli been born in elven society with her mother, both would have been made outcast or exiled. In a perversion of fortune however, she was born in her father's demesne to be raised with her various half-siblings and even a couple more full siblings. Early life allowed her to indulge in all of the luxuries afforded to kin of such a revered priest as Tenoch. To the cult and society at large, she was an honored daughter of an honored priest from a long line of dutiful priests and afforded the respect and honors befitting one of the title. However, to those within Tenoch's inner circle she was just another halfbreed child who was only valuable for advancing her father's goals. In fact, the only thing notable about her within the inner family of Tenoch was the elven blood, a distinguishing mark from the rest of the halfbreeds.

Most of her education revolved around learning Hishna magic, infiltrating society, and spying on potential enemies for her father's cult. For decades this was her life, reporting on threats to Tenoch and even helping to remove some. That is, until the Golden Legion came to the shores of Maztica. Tenoch had a sudden interest in these colonizers and sent some of his children, Tlakatsintli among them, to spy on these newcomers. To determine where exactly they had come from and their exact purpose in Maztica. So, using her innate abilities, she spied. She listened and observed, spending the next few months learning their tongue and habits to better take on their form. Even when conflict broke out between Nexal and the Golden Legion, Tlakatsintli observed and began developing notions in her head. Notions that certainly would have been punished by Tenoch had he ever learned of them. Fortunately, he never did, and Tlakatsintli was able to begin her plotting and scheming.

It should be said that it was Tenoch's apathy and decadence that sparked Tlakatsintli's notions of departure. He had already built his empire and it was maintained by the labors of her and her siblings, not by Tenoch himself. Tlakatsintli wanted what her father had, she wanted to live a life of decadence where EVERYONE obeyed her and served her every whim. After all, she had been given tastes and crumbs of what she could achieve if her father was out of the way though she was far too weak to even consider killing him now. But in a new land with new opportunity? She could make something of herself and build her power.

It was the final push over the edge that allowed Tlakatsintli's ambitions to bloom. One of her father's Jaguar Knights, a loyal warrior and devout retainer, had just proven himself spectacularly against the invaders and was due for a reward. What better reward for a loyal soldier than his lord's own blood? Tlakatsintli was made to wed this warrior to cement her father's hold on him, and once more being used as a cog in the machine frustrated her. She bided her time of course, worked slowly and steadily to work up enough of a rapport with the dockworkers in Helmsport to ensure that her departure was smooth when it came time. And one night, when the stars aligned and the timing was perfect, she vanished never to be seen again by husband or kin. A development and loss of control that no doubt enraged Tenoch.

And after many long and grueling weeks at sea, Tlakatsintli finally arrived in Faerun. Tired and exhausted, she knew that she needed to put as much distance between her and Tenoch as possible. If he was searching for her, she needed to keep moving. And what better life for such a creature than that of an adventurer? A wandering warrior traveling and exploring what she could before finally she came to the land of Cormyr and the area all around it. This place was far enough east that she would be relatively safe from any seeking her out, and it was vast enough that she could keep moving between the various realms and keep hidden. All too perfect to begin building herself up. And who knows? Perhaps soon she will acquire enough strength to return home and bring her mother and full siblings here, after she kills Tenoch of course.

Personality Profile: Cunning, devious, wicked. Tlakatsintli was raised in a harsh environment where lies and deceit were as much a part of existence as breathing. She takes great care to keep a constant mask up as a barrier between her and the world around her. The Rakshasa blood in her veins only amplifying her avarice and cruelty. To her credit however, she has learned over the years how to make an incredible mask and how to use it in order to best suit her. A courageous and dedicated warrior one moment might become a heartless butcher the next.

Goals:
~ Evade Tenoch for as long as possible until she has enough strength to destroy all that he has built.
~ If they still live, reclaim her mother and younger siblings from Tenoch's cult.
~ Her mother told her a few stories about the elves and their history, Tlakatsintli is interested in learning what she can while she is in this strange new land.
~ Enhance, in her own way, her devotion to Zaltec and bring what little she can of it to this new land of Faerun.
~ Work towards forming a power base of her own, individual strength is well and good but she needs allies in her endeavors.

Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts:
~ How Tlakatsintli's mother was brought to Tenoch's cult is a mystery even to Tlakatsintli herself, all that is known is that she was the lone survivor of a group slaughtered by Tenoch's Jaguar Knight retainers and brought to Tenoch himself.
~ She holds a curiosity for this new world she has found herself in, the customs are strange and utterly foreign to her, so she has a natural curiosity to learn more. Especially regarding her elven heritage.
~ Her father views Tlakatsintli as his property and her departure was a mark against his prestige in Nexal, he is likely sending some of her half-siblings and even full siblings to bring him the head of his wayward daughter.
~ For as cruel and depraved as Tlakatsintli is, she has the smallest of soft spots for her mother and younger full siblings. Not enough to stop her from endangering them when she fled, but enough of a soft spot for her to be manipulated.
~ She hated living under her father's cult, though only because she was another cog in the machine. She wants to lead.

How does this race affects the character's roleplay?
She is a half-fiend born from a particularly nasty and vile race of fiend, she does not reveal herself to others, she does not trust others. Her upbringing around other Rakshasa and halfbreeds has ingrained a lot of vile behaviors into her that she knows she will need to hide in Faerun.

How does it affect the roleplay of others?
It depends on who they are and what side of Tlakatsintli they see. She has many faces that she projects and some would get closer to piercing the veil than most. Most people would only see her as a forlorn elven knight who seeks the completion of any goal regardless of the cost. Others might see a strange and curious elf eager to learn about this new land. Very few and only the most dedicated and vile individuals would ever get a glimpse of the true evil nature of Tlakatsintli. People who suspect there is something more to the elf could look into her and stare into the abyss of a soul she possesses.

Does it maintain the integrity of the setting?
Yes. There is nothing that I can think of in the app that would conflict with the lore of the setting or strains disbelief.

If you're applying for a character with a reaction level, or who is otherwise of an uncommon race or appearance, please answer the following two questions:

How does the reaction level affect your PC and how will you mitigate any consequences of your character's reaction level?
As a half-fiend, they are effectively outcast or kill on sight. To that end, she is not revealing her true nature to anybody and will put up whatever masks she can to deflect from the truth of her being. On the surface and to most observation, she will simply be a tall wood elf.

How will your character conceal or otherwise hide their unusual appearance to blend in with common or accepted races of the setting?
She will use her innate abilities to hide her monstrous true form and appear as a full-blooded wood elf to most eyes.
